Do you think Humans will colonise The Moon and Mars someday?

Just like the mountains here on earth - it's an adventure for some, and something will happen to move us closer to knowledge. Some people make the news and some watch.
It appears that we cannot stop our thirst for knowing "what's over there?", and "what makes us human". |

Yes, I think it will happen. If humanity can get its shit together. And that's a BIG if.

We need a form of warp drive or light speed as the distances are huge
also there is a problem with eyesight when you go into Space with cataracts being formed on Astronauts - that needs solved first |

We've almost reached the point where this is technically possible. Certainly a return to the Moon is on the cards within the next 10 years. The Chinese will want a base there as plenty of commercial and scientific possibilities exist and the Chinese leadership are well aware of this. The Chinese have also made rapid progress with their space technology, helped by the Russians. In response, the US won't want to be left out. What all this comes down to, is money and enormous amounts of it, public support, which dramatically dwindled after Apollo and whether or not our miserable world wrecks itself with overpopulation, nuclear war, AI or some environmental issue.

With the advent of AI and the new BFR, it seems logical that we will send AI ahead of us to explore for danger and send back analysis samples, while we set up stations along the route to expand our exposure to space and set up colonies to breed and repair our technology. Step by step. And yes, I do believe that this will happen, bit by bit.
