To give an example: Pia Fris. There is enough material/interest in that id-thread to start a thread for her. But with what? Replicating material already in the id thread? Yes, we can do that, though it's not nice; but what about the contributions other people made in that thread? The natural thing IMHO would be to move the thread (and others like it) lock, stock & barrel as a whole across sections into the model area, pruning out a few things that are no longer appropriate. The pending section sounds like a good place to do the pruning. But a member cannot do that; that's got to be a mod. |

Once we're satisfied with the result the appropriate section Mods will be advised the thread is ready to be moved to their section and they can take that action. If anyone has a suggestion for an existing id request thread which should eventually become the model's thread please post the id request thread link here. We will evaluate the suggestion and begin the process by moving the thread to the PMT area. |

I guess I wasn't sure why the PMT was needed since it seemed like Ex simply moved the new model threads to the appropriate forum without the need to ok it with the other section mods. Perhaps he had permission and/or abilities that allowed him to do that. A man of many talents, as sweaty will tell you. |

Elizabeth Baker | Sherrice is a candidate for "prune & polish". I wouldn't mind editing/cleaning some of my own posts in that thread to make their content tidier/more coherent. I'm actually not overjoyed with the choice of name(s) because 1) EB seems like a "real name" or "photographer's name" with no evidence (so far) that it was ever a published name, 2) some doubt was later introduced about Sherrice, i.e. suggestion it was simply invented, & 3) I much prefer a single (2-part) name over lists of options, but I still think (hope?) that releasing her from MIR will be more productive than leaving her inside?
Nancy Mann. Lolita Ramos. Chrissy Harris. Rezaes Bathory. Lilly Princess. Some maybes?: Fransene Smith. Julie Kruis. Natalie Woods. I think this thread still needs a good looking-at/evaluation by a mod. I thought sufficient evidence had been presented to doubt/dispel the Angel Ducharme id? |

I'd be willing to work on the Julie Kruis one if somebody wants to tell me what needs to be done. I've been gathering up a bunch of my content of her thinking one would be created soon. My only problem would be time constraints (like everyone it appears) because it's now golf season here in the colonies.

Recently there's been some problems regarding members starting model threads with seemingly little basis for the name/id chosen. This is actually not just a recent problem--there are other such model threads started up to several years ago that have simply been left as is.
Obviously that is outside MIR and so one might think it not our concern, but I think it is still our concern in a way, both in terms of having a good MIR section (i.e. useful solves) and a good vef. I could not find specific guidelines about starting model threads in the general vef rules. There are comments e.g. in model sections rules about checking via search before starting model threads but although very important that's not quite the same thing. Is this something we should consider adding as a guide both to members and to section mods? Maybe I'm just dreaming/hoping but I believe mods finding new model threads with e.g. just a first name title and no evidence that greater efforts have been made to find a better id should consider whether such threads should be moved to MIR to be "sorted out", rather than just left where found? |
