Question VEF Search Question

Greetings,

When searching for magazines with multiple words in the title, I do not know how to constrain the search. For example, if I'm looking for search results for just the vintage magazine "Cover Girls", I put that into the search with quotes ("). The results come back as if I'm looking for either word (an "OR" search), which makes this useless to me.

How do I search for a string of consecutive words, like "Cover Girls", so I don't get results like "..she was on the cover of some mag"

Thanks in advance for the help.

This does not happen for me, but you can search for "Cover+Girls" (with or without the quotation marks) which should perform an AND search.

As far as I know this is not possible.

See also Guide how to search the forum.

You wont find anything specific inside a thread unless you use advanced search
select the relevant section and then use search this thread

Magazine Sites - on and off VEF including the A to Z Magazine lists by title on VEF

The alternative if you want the ability to combine words is google using domain search
but thats largely ineffectual today as google has removed too much because of dmca notices.

It is also ineffective because many parts of this forum, including the "Magazine Scans" section, are not public and so cannot be indexed by any web search robot.

When searching for words Cover Girl, see if you can add anything else like models name or magazine number or year.
Try to avoid "and" "the" "or" kind of words & put in just main words your looking for.Try both kind of searching for posts & for threads too.
It takes a little time, but if you really wanting something, you can eventually find it.

Try these 2 tricks , put what you are searching for in quotation marks "Search" also run your words together as an empty space is treated as "or" so [cover girls ]becomes [covergirls]
and to narrow down a google search after you type in what you are searching for add
site:vbulletin.org
as this site runs on vbulletin

there is a third way but you are not ready for it yet
