That's nasty news about will's mother. Hoping she comes through strong!
Regarding Newton. If he's as bad as Laughing Boy says he is. Then you guys over there should be used to that kind of behaviour, fans not take it personally. While the games start tomorrow. It's kind of fun to reflect on the Panthers/Saints game. Having been outplayed for almost the whole game and getting the worst of the ref calls. To be in the position they could've pinched the win and probably should've (especially with Funchess in the end zone). It's great that the team has that level of competitive spirit. Carolina is a pretty random team for an Australian to go for. I'm glad I do. It's fun going for them. |

Will. All the best to your Mum, yourself and your family.
Sat, 1/13 ATLANTA at Philadelphia Tennessee at NEW ENGLAND Sun, 1/14 Jacksonville at PITTSBURGH New Orleans at MINNESOTA I think Philly lost a fantastic chance of winning the Super Bowl the second Wentz got hurt. They deserved better. I cannot make too much of a case for the Titans (Don't want to) but Brady wasn't throwing at his best over the last three regular season games. Jags O was pathetic last week. Their points need to come from the defence that I think is the strongest in the league. The Vikes are the great unknowns. It would be fantastic to see them make the big game.

will, thoughts, prayers and good wishes to you and your mom.
The changes begin for the Bills. Rick Dennison has been relieved of his OC duties and the search is on for his replacement. The listed candidates are Mike McCoy, Rob Chudzinski, Mike Shula and Darrell Bevell. Another name bandied about is Ben McAdoo, former Giants HC. One source has McCoy off the list, while another has Shula out. McCoy was McDermott's first choice for OC, but he took the OC job in Denver and was fired halfway through the season. Chudzinski and Shula worked with McDermott in Carolina. If Bevell gets the job, it may mean that Tyrod Taylor will return as Bevell is used to dealing with a slightly undersized mobile QB. And if Mike Shula gets the job, a Shula working in Buffalo. Kind of boggles the mind.

I was expecting Atlanta to win, and am surprised they didn't. At the same time. What the hell was with their play calling at the end there? Gee whiz, they botched that. I don't get what's going on at that joint?
As for the Patriots? Well, if nothing else, ultimatewarlord has fooled me into thinking he's a legit fan not from that area. So I'm not going to say anything that'll make him upset. Fletcher Cox seemed like a good bloke. I'd be happy for him to get a SB win. Last edited by Motorboater; January 14th, 2018 at 07:41 PM.. |

High brow aside, the little that I watched in the Panthers/Saints game, I saw Carolina get jobbed by the refs several times. Game changing calls that the refs got wrong. I really LOVE football. NFL football. Every facet of the game fascinates me. It's like a soap opera for men. I spend a lot of time, (more than I should) thinking about it. Football might be the best team sport going. I love football. All of it. Except for the officiating. The fix seems to be in. I rarely have time to watch anything but Seahawks games. In EVERY game I've watched in the past year the refs have altered the game in order to keep it close(IMO). Or ...as in the Carolina game...who knows what their motivation is. I'm pretty much trying to wean myself from the NFL "product". The league has so blown it in terms of the way that the refs dictate the game, that my frustration outweighs the wonder. There's ways that they could lessen the human error in the ways that the game is called, without having the game be 4 hours long. It hurts to have my 40 year love affair with the game wane. |

How the hell did the Steelers manage to give up 45 points to Jacksonville? The Vikings just reminded me of how much sports immortality is dependent on plain dum luck. |
