Got hooked up to the NBN (government backed broadband provider) yesterday. Despite all the horror stories I've heard, I have to say that to date I'm quite impressed at the speeds I'm getting.

For a long time I've been convinced that Australian friends have high internet costs, low speeds, and are screwed by private ISP profiteers. I've never heard anything to contradict that. My brother has wi-fi and it works well, but he lives in the middle of Sydney, and I don't know what he pays

My result from now is here. But I must say, I've never seen it this fast -- every other time I tested it, it's about 20% slower. Nominally, I have 100/10 Mbps. For this I pay €29,90 per month, and can connect 2 PCs to the web
