Poor woman - its not bad enough that she's dead, she's got Otoko on her case as well. The editorial department of BBC News are the ones who should be decomposing really.

There are some serious news items out there.

Floods in India in which over 300 people have died so far.
A quadruple stabbing from a major knife fight on a housing estate in South London, with 6 teenagers arrested and charged with GBH and attempted murder. Two other men have died in separate stabbings elsewhere in London on the same day.
An airstrike in Yemen which has killed 40 schoolchildren - according to CNN the bomb was manufactured in the United States.

Actually, the BBc is probably right. Aretha is the most important news item...

Top of the popped off on the BBC news website - at least we won't have to listen him singing his 50 year old old hits for the next few days.

IMO, if we were able to find time to pause and respectfully mourn the loss of other stars, then we could and should do likewise for Aretha Franklin.

You left out the "Metro" - but I can add the Star as well, if that is your preference...

[EDIT] Come to think of it, why should it matter what newspaper(s) I used? The point of my last post was about remembering those stars and celebs who passed away.

Yes it is...
When Bob & Marcia sang "Young, Gifted and Black" that was a great pop song. When Aretha sang that same song it felt like a call to arms.

But you say Tomato, etc..

Looking at these last few posts I wonder what has happened to respecting the dead

. Yes some do not deserve much if any respect based on their lives but some one like Aretha deserves more than she is being shown here IMO.
And no I was not a fan of hers but I think she does deserve R-E-S-P-E-C-T

I agree entirely and considering that a week or so they were gushing on about "Love Island"It seems somewhat odd that that You choose to moan about this.
