If anybody is worried Labour will get in , don't be. The time to start worrying is when the Cons get back in and sell off what remains of the NHS.

If the IMF or the World Bank start to threaten us like they did the Greeks, fuck em. We`ll invite them onto the white cliffs . Bring out a nuke then have the SAS polish it in the background during the discussions. They`ll soon shut up and get with the infinite credit program I`m not kidding either.

Au Revoir. This line is always used when the prospect of raising taxes is involved. They don't mind help causing the mess but want to cry when you ask to help cleaning it up.

After all, they made their money within an economic climate we created. We educated the workforce, kept them well, allowed freedom of capital and commerce, gave a legal framework to allow you to prosper, provided infrastructure etc. etc. In recognition of your efforts you can have £10,000 to set up elsewhere but please hand over the keys to your house and car while we freeze your assets. Yes, yes! I admit I am being deliberately polemic and probably unfair but it does make a point. As John Donne said "No man is an island". |

Now let me see - according to some on here we can get all the money we need to pay for everything by taxing the rich more and if they don't like it they can fck off. But when they've gone who will pay for all those bribes the politicians have promised us.
By the way I went to a school car park today, first time for years. It was in a very depressed former pit village, known even in the area for being as rough as. Given there wasn't a car older than three years in the car park, and there were more high end cars than normal ones, truly how much do primary school teachers get paid nowadays. As to those who will leave - they made their fortunes in a climate they created, their taxes educated the workforce, and their investment in their talents is what pays for everything else in this country. |

But the thing I find is that those people actually very rarely do go. Noel Edmonds and Jim Davidson continue to make their valuable contribution to British life and culture. |

My friend made his money by pioneering a piece of software, which he developed in his own time, completely self taught, computers were still plugged into the TV via a tape deck then.
He bought money into Britain in bucket loads, has invested hugely in social projects, without reward, has salvaged ancient buildings for the nation and on a whim gave nearly £100k to rebuild a community football club, again for no reward, he does not even like football! BTW Harold one of my ex Mrs R's was a primary teacher, she was on £38, 400. Thats the kind of folk we would lose! |

Ya know if life were fair there would be no poor people.
I really don't see much wrong with a rich person who tries to hold on to as much as they can also goes for any other tier. As to moving to a more favorable tax country, that is a personal decision. Maybe if the country went to a flat tax it would be more equitable to all. The rich would still pay a lot more than the lower levels. How about a national sales tax so that users pay for what they use? I am not to keen on most of my taxes going for purposes I don't like but it is the way it is. |
