I'm not sure if I do bob. I fail to see the problem. And I do doubt that the VEF staff is united in a moral outlook considering the "objective" moral character of the various transgressors. In other words, who deserve to have their posts and who don't after they are banned.

I believe the analogy between VEF and sports breaks down due to difference in utility or value for the VEF community as a whole in contrast to cheating records that serve no purpose. Do you see a problem in accepting that a person's posts are good for the VEF community as a whole while still admitting that person has to go? If banning was completely arbitrary I would agree with you but banning of senior member ranks and up is never up to an individual moderator. For good reasons obviously. Most people that end up banned only have themselves to blame.

To put in bluntly: Thank you for your posts but you seem unable to follow the rules and you don't heed advice so now you have to have a word with the headsman.

As for preferred links. You are right. I could simply have said: "updated with working links."

I have no doubts that each individual that ends up getting
banned from VEF, is dealt with....well....individually, as they should. Their
posts, from what's been said here, I guess is dealt with in a similar way too.
As each is come across I mean. Errrrr.....that didn't come out quite right
