I first noticed her in 1976, probably the same year she got into the biz, and she was out of it by early 1977 at the latest. Her mag pix continued to appear well after that time, into the early 80s. I doubt she had any significant name recognition until the later 80s, when Cinderella was reissued on VHS, and the mags all tended to call her by different names.

I don't have nearly everything of hers that I once did, but my collection has suffered vicissitudes. It's boxed and bagged in the garage currently, and I don't have a scanner. However, I do have a catalog of what I'm aware of, and this might tip someone who has the stuff more accessible and the means to post it, so here goes!

Flick, 9/1976 -- short-lived newsstand porn film fan mag of its day. Linda is featured as centerfold "Susie," up and coming porn actress. It's hard to disguise how cute she was, but this set comes pretty damn close.

Hustler, probably late 1976 -- "A Passing Fancy," b/g set by Ron Vogel, which teams Linda with a bearded guy. Very tame pix, just posing, though in one shot her thigh is resting on what looks like a semi-erect cock. I don't remember which issue this was and don't have the mag, only tear sheets of the set. Contents lists indicate Vogel was in both the 9/1976 and 12/1976 Hustler, and, from their covers, I remember having both of those at one time. My best guess is that it's the 12/1976, as the cover jiggles my memory a little.

Casanova, 11/1976 -- "Sisters Under the Skin." This is a g/g set with "Tanya and Roberta." Looks like it might have been from an XXX session, as at least one shot looks like a for-real 69, but it's hard to tell in the b/w repro, some of it on cheap pulp paper. A prop in the story is Private #21, which is occasionally open to pix of "Ulrika" sucking her boyfriend's dick, though this might not be obvious to anyone who hasn't seen that issue.

Affair, 12/1976 -- "Don't Call Us" -- g./g set with Linda York and Linda Gildersleeve (in cute leg warmers). Very mild stuff.

Teen Enema Scouts (n/d, c1976) -- one-shot mag from a publisher who never signed any of its mags. Linda, a plainjane brunette, and natural plat blonde Candy (the one who looked like Seka's much younger sister) play teens who play around with enema tubes and also triple-team a mustached geek in softcore pix. The guy's dick does get pretty stiff while Linda is playing with it, and there are black modesty dots over a couple of pix where the tip of an enema tube touches a pussy crack, though they were clearly not insertion shots.

Gamblers porn loops series, brochure (n/d, c1976) -- Linda is featured on the cover, holding a pair of big fuzzy dice and sitting on the floor so that her pussy crack shows amid the fuzz. She's not visible in the sample pix from any of the four films featured in the brochure, however.

Looks like 2 or 3 separate mini stories were done on the same stage, with occasional differences in Linda's partial costuming. In one shot you can see the guy's hard cock between her tits, and it may have been shot XXX.

Club Quest, 1/1977 -- "Marlene" -- centerfold is Linda, partly clad and sometimes sucking a cigarette. (Cf the first issue of this mag, 1976 but no date survives on the tattery copy in my archive; there's a g/g set in 1930s styling, with one of the girls dressed like a gangster and one like a moll. The girly one looks like Linda Gildersleeve but you can't see her face very clearly in any of the pix. Quest was an early attempt at a metrosexual mass market skin mag.)

Playing with Sis by Ron Taylor (Greenleaf Classics, 2/1977) -- paperback porn novel by the old fictioneer himself (it's one of his best, which isn't saying a lot) features a bare-breasted Linda on the cover. Greenleaf used Linda as a cover model on other occasions, all of the pix probably from the same shoot. It looks like Bob Veze's work and may be from the same session as the pix in Best of Harvey, #1, below.)

Casanova, 3/1977 -- "Pussy Bumpers", featuring "Linda and Carol" in a g/g set. Looks to me like softer pix from an XXX lesbian shoot. Linda is made up as a young teen.

Squire, 4/1977 -- "Story of a Little Girl" -- Linda made up like a cute teen again, with story about how she found out what boys really wanted and now has a baby to show for it. One shot features deep middle finger insertion. There was at least one other set from the same shoot in another Challenge group mag of the same vintage; the one I had was very tattery and I saved out a couple of pages before tossing it.

Cinderella, released 5/1977 -- Linda plays one of the Farmer's Daughters in this soft-X musical that was probably shot in mid-1976.

The Beach Bunnies, released 7/1977 -- Linda has a big supporting role in this witless skin comedy that pushes its R rating here and there. Also probably shot in 1976.

Men's Challenge, 7/1977 -- "Connie and Donna," g/g set featuring Linda and "Carol" from "Pussy Bumpers," above; more pix from the same session, with more vaginal exposure. Again, they look to me like outtakes from an explicit lesbian shoot.

The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington, released 9/1977 -- Linda has a brief cameo in this lowbudget sex comedy. (The SWV catalog identifies one more movie she's in,a bit as a stripper.)

Climax, 11/1977 -- "A Little on the Side," outdoor solo pix of Linda, credited as "May." Nothing special and hardly ever shows her face.

Dude, 1/1978 -- "Taking Off" -- g/g set with Linda and an older blonde, both styled as teens. My notes don't indicate what names are used for them.

Affair, 2/1978 -- "Happy Birthday, Boss!" -- b/g set with Linda credited as "Betty," a secretary making out with the boss on his desk. The mag group (Sunway) was CA-based, had bought up a couple of defunct titles from mags formerly published in NYC (including Dapper and Swingle). During much of 1977 they ran b/g pix from hardcore shoots, some of which pushed the contemporary envelope a little, but at the end of the year they toned down their art considerably, so this set is very tame as shown. The guy in the set is the same one she did the "Passing Fancy" set with in 1976 but has shaved off his beard in the meantime. Linda's also shaved, but in a different place. I suspect this was a hardcore shoot and that the guy in it was Linda's real-life old man. He looks more like a swinging car salesman than your typical male porn model of the day. I've never seen a photog credit for the set, but it was shot in two segments, office and bedroom, with differences in Linda's partial costuming. Pix from this series were featured in a number of issues of the Hustler letters mags in the late 80s, some showing Linda playing with his stiff dick.

Pix look like Bob Veze's work to me (I don't think any other photog ever made Linda look quite as lovely, whoever it was that took these) and probably come from the same session that Greenleaf Classics drew on for some cover shots of Linda on paperback porn novels in the 70s and 80s.

Velvet Talks, 7/1982 -- "Do Ya Think I'm a Sexy Bitch?" -- all-color set of Linda, post-pussy shave and in leg warmers; same session as Eros, 9/1978, above.

Hot Swinging Couples #4 (n.d., c1988) -- newsstand special collection from the Zentner (Velvet) group. All-color pix from the same session as "A Passing Fancy," above, though Linda's costuming varies. She's seen variously full nude, in striped knee socks, and in green garter belt/white nylons. The guy is shown with a bone in one photo.

Besides these, at least a dozen issues of the Hustler "letters" mags (Chic Letters, Hustler Fantasies) between 1988 and 1989 used b/w photos from at least 3 different Linda Gildersleeve photo sets -- F/F, M/F/F, and M/F. The latter was the same shoot as "Happy Birthday, Boss", above. I've never seen the other two sets anywhere else. These mags were a treasure trove of mostly 70s porn, though they only used softer shots. The pix were all b/w but lit for optimum repro in color or b/w, an art which seems to be lost.

Got to say that I thought Linda was totally cute, but she was and remains the absolute worst actress I ever saw in anything I had to pay to get into, porn included. There is almost certainly some XXX out there to be found, though I've never seen any.
