Again - early 90s. IIRC it was '91 as "Terminator 2" had just been released. Through the LWA I saw an ad for a couple that would pose. After some cloak and dagger business (I called the number. Was told to go to Notting Hill Gate. Called again. Was told to go to a phone box at the junction of two streets where they could see me, and then given the address) one Sunday I rolled up with my trusty camera, and the £70 requested.

She was quite a large lady - mid 20s. Big tits, and a few tattoos. The guy was an older black guy, average build. But he had quite a cock, although it never got really hard. It was clear they had a routine, and they went through a series of poses, since I had told them I had no idea of anything in particular, and just wanted to catch them "in action". So they wen' t through BJ, 69, him fingering her, her wanking him. All in all it took about 30 minutes. He didn't cum, and said if I had wanted that it would have been extra, and we'd have to rearrange another time.

I can't say they were attractive, but they wouldn't have been out of place in a magazine shoot. I shot about 3 rolls of 36-exposure film. In the same section of the LWA there were confidential processing places, and ISTR I paid about £20 to get them developed.

Although the results were good, the actual experience was strangely anerotic (if there's such a word). Trying to frame shots. Watching the light meter (this wasn't a studio, so had to be conscious of shadows). They were quite comfortable posing, and knew the best positions for capturing action which may not have been the best position for comfort.

Again, sadly, they got lost along with the solo shoot.

I've taken thousands of photo's of my wife in the last 20 years - on the strict understanding they are for my eyes only: OK, when we started way back then we had to have the film processed but I was quite picky about how we did that so the missus couldn't complain. For a while we used a Kodak postal service in Scotland having checked they were OK with High Street Mag Nudes - which they said they were. All went well until on one occaision they sent back the negatives but witheld the prints on the grounds they were 'obscene' and couldn't be sent through the post (this must have been the late 90's!) - but I could collect the prints in person if I wished - from south of the Thames I ask you! I tried arguing the case, suggesting they'd already proved the law an ass by sending the negatives (let alone earlier prints they'd done for me) but they'd have none of it. I found somewhere that would re-print the negatives (which cost a lot more than the original developing) and never used Kodak again. After that I always used the discreet, explicit services advertised in the back of photo mags with no problem; they were more expensive but worth it.

Of course now we have digital cameras and the quality is 10 times better than I ever got with my old SLR or more modern compact; I can take 100+ shots in one go at no real cost if the wife doesn't get too bored and what we get up too is far more than we ever did on film. Often we finish up having sex, but not always - that's women for you...

In truth, my wife mostly poses just to humour/please me though she's now very good and experienced at it. I get to chose what she wears (though on our recent anniversary she called the shots and really got into it) which usually includes stockings and has included themes such as Air Hostess, Nurse, Student, Maid etc. etc; she grows her hair long for me and keeps a good triangle so I count myself vey lucky. Shame we didn't have digital when we were both younger and the middle age spread hadn't set in - not that my wife isn't still gorgeous. The young people of today don't know they're born!

As I said, the photo's are taken on trust so there's no way I'm posting them - I want to stay happily married. While I enjoy looking at all the amatures posted on the web, it worries me that many women may be featured without knowing about it or strictly against their wishes or as some sort of sad revenge because the relationship broke down... if you're thinking of posting without persmission, please don't.

I've shot a few (ok, five) girls at my apartment in the last few years and at a friend's house (when they were on vacation). I found the models through Craigslist, except for one, and all were paid models, not my girlfriend (dammit); I didn't have one at the time.
Most of the girls were easy to work with, except for the aforementioned non-Craigslist one that was recommended by a friend who worked at a strip joint. She was hours late, sullen, and kept interrupting the shoot to answer her cell phone. Then she put up a stink when I wanted to pay her a pro-rated amount for the time she actually spent in front of the camera as opposed to on the phone.
The first girl I shot was a body builder with a deep voice who didn't look feminine enough for my taste, but was quite easy to work with. She got very aroused, being quite an exhibitionist, and when I said I was, as well, she offered to "finish me off." No mention was made of extra payment, and as I found her a little too masculine I politely declined her offer.
One girl I shot was a real estate agent needing extra cash. After my apartment photo-shoot she mentioned trying porn and I asked whether I could do a hardcore shoot with her. She wanted details, I blushed and chickened out. A few months later I found pix of her doing a hardcore scene for the site Cum Fu under the name Eva Right.
Another girl who was gorgeous and slim in her initial emailed photo turned out to not be nearly as slim when she appeared at my door. Still had a great time shooting her, great personality and very outgoing and happy to shoot a masturbation/insertion scene, but not what I was ultimately looking for.
Most of these girls showed up unchaperoned, but one shoot was with a lovely mature Asian lady whose husband came along and frequently suggested shots or poses which, having my own definite agenda in mind, I ignored.
I only got one model release from the stripper, though I think Eva Right was OK with me using the pix somewhere else. Another girl didn't want me to release the pics anywhere, but on a lot of them she wore a mask, so she's unrecognizable …
I only have a digital camera, so I couldn't say whether color- or mood-wise it's different than shooting with film, but I can guarantee that I wouldn't have the know-how to get good lighting with film. Nor could I possibly shoot as many photos as I did or afford all the developing and proof sheets that come with shooting film.

What I've been enjoying more recently is this: Through an artist friend, I discovered there's a group here in Los Angeles calling themselves The Gallery Girls, and they hire themselves out to pose in costume—and frequently semi- or totally nude—at drawing workshops. On occasion they allow photographers for an extra fee, and it's a great deal. They charge me less than $100 for around 5 hours for the privilege of shooting usually 3 or 4, but once as many as 8 lovely scantily clad ladies in a prepared studio setting with dramatic lighting and props already taken care of.

The downsides? 1) the girls are primarily posing for artists, so each pose is 15 to 20 minutes long, 2) they choose their own poses, 3) photographers aren't allowed to use a flash, 4) these workshops are getting so popular it's hard to find a good spot to shoot and not be in an artist's way and 5) I don't know about model releases or permission to publish. And, oh yeah, 6) I'm never sure which girl, if any, will be naked on any particular night.

But in terms of getting practice shooting under low light and experimenting with camera settings, lenses, effects, it's awesome. One night one of the ladies looked SO familiar, I asked the head of the Gallery Girls her name. That name I don't remember, but I realized later it was porn actress Lena Ramone.

Yes, I do quite a bit of glamour photography, not only with pro models but with amateurs and women who just fancy a shoot too.

Funnily enough it was my photography that drew me to this site, I was told that one of my images had been posted by someone in a thread on the Modern forum (has been removed now). Don't get me wrong, I like people seeing my work, but I don't like having my images taken and posted in places I don't know about without my permission. Copyright is something I hold quite dear.

Back on topic, I love photographing women, the studio environment is great and having a chat and a giggle with the people I photograph makes time fly. As mentioned above by Penfold007 and fytch, it's one of the least erotic things to do. While you're concentrating on getting the shots, there's little time to think of anything else.

Although LOADS of people find that difficult to believe when I tell them.

I understand its completely unprofessional to get visibly turned on while shooting a model. (other than your significant other perhaps) But what is the allure in doing erotic photography? Is it just about the money? As noted, most photographers take such a mechanical and analytical approach to the shoots, you might as well be photographing a hamburger.

You're absolutely right, I might as well, but hamburgers tend not to want their photographs taking.

The allure of it for me is to create an image that is pleasing to the eye of the client (and anyone else that may see it). If I can do that I know I'm doing my job to the best of my ability.

The initial draw of the genre, for me at least, was the female form (hey at least I'm honest). The dynamic, naturally appealing shape of a woman can be spectacularly awe inspiring. But, having found myself quite good at it, the money side made things more serious.

Believe me, hamburgers are FAR easier to work with. A hamburger never says 'I hate having my photo taken'.
