I don't know what it is. Maybe it is the bad weather or the start of the allergy season, but I just can't stay awake during the day. I have to drink strong coffee to keep me awake, and I don't want to do that every day because I will become tolerant to the caffeine. Last edited by trailmaster; May 3rd, 2018 at 06:04 PM.. |

Above are photos and a map of The Lincoln Marsh which is a small trail that breaks off from the much larger and longer Illinois Prairie Path. There is a smaller more detailed map of the marsh, but it can't be downloaded because it is the propery of The DuPage County Forest Preserve and available only as a PDF. The first photo is a map of the Illinois Prairie Path which is 66 miles long and goes through three counties. If you look at the very center of this large map you will see what looks like a yellow patch. That is Lincoln Marsh. As a hiker is walking on what is known as the Elgin branch of the Illinois Prairie Path which is a 16 mile section that goes northwest and ends in the city of Elgin in Kane County, just one mile north of the city of Wheaton, one will see what looks like wooden steps going down into a huge grassland devoid of any trees. This is the Lincoln Marsh. A marsh is a lowland area that is always flooded and home to grass, sedge grass and cattails. If one were to step onto the marsh one would sink through the grass into 2-6 feet of water. The trail itself is made up of wooden boards built over the marsh and it is about 1 mile in length. The third photo from the left is the Prairie Path. If you look closely to the middle of the photo you can see the beginning of the wooden steps that bring you onto the Lincoln Marsh trail. The other three photos are just three of hundreds of photos of the marsh available on the internet. Last edited by trailmaster; July 18th, 2017 at 12:25 PM.. |

Hooray, I'm in the dairy section of my local supermarket. This is where I get my Lactaid milk, eggs, my wonderful Chobani yogurt, and misc items as needed. Last edited by trailmaster; May 3rd, 2018 at 06:05 PM.. |
