After posting yesterday about a lovely sunny day and wanting to do some gardening, I got up this morning to 4" of snow. The British weather strikes again.

Same by me, on the plus side its melting away at the moment, on the down side its forecast off and on for much of the next five days.

Hi all
Nice and sunny here but cold. Had frost last night and then around 4am it poured down but clear this morning.

Last night's Bobsleigh saw both GBR1 and CAN1 bobs crash in spectacular fashion-unlike the Canadian team, GBR team were disqualified because the brake man, Daniel Money came out the back, whilst Andrew Jackson stayed in the Bob. The rules however state that both men and bob must cross the line in order to register a time so GBR1 is out of the Two man and must now rely on the 4-Man team to produce something. Liechtenstein also suffered the same fate. Congratulations to Amy Stephens, what a great performance and led from start to finish over the four runs.
I did think it was a bit rich the Americans complaining about Amy's helmet and then the Canadians-whose own rider in the luge was thought to be a threat-tsk tsk not sportsmanlike.

Tonight is the BAFTAs(British Academy of Film and Television Awards) the cinematic version-the TV Baftas will be a few weeks time-no doubt with all this rain about a lot of dresses and hairdos will suffer-and thats just the men I am hoping that British films will win tonight but if not then possibly AVATAR or one of the other dramatic ones will do. Never did get to see Avatar.

That's debatable - you can't be touted as 'Mr Clean' and be paid hundreds of millions of dollars for it while screwing every payable bimbo on the block

Even if he hadn't been married, that "strategy" would have been brainless. Being married only made it more hypocritical

It is cheap and cheerful mate cheap and cheerful.

Scottish Government wants to try and ban it. So it gets publicity that makes the kids want to try it. They ban all alcohol advertising but constantly give TV and press space for Bucky. That is the one the kids hear about so that is the one they want to try.

Why do Adults lose the plot when they reach 25? Particularly our elected betters!!!

Yep, I do the same.

I design and print them from the computer. Put them in my jeans pocket. Put them into the washing machine. Then, hey presto, I take them down to the shops and buy things with them.

One of these days I will need to get a proper job.

I have just realised that my understanding of the words "outstanding contribution" have been wrong all of my life after Robbie Williams was awarded just such an award.

Well I was right about British films doing well at the BAFTAs last night and the best actress(Carey Mulligan) and actor(Colin Firth) bucked the recent trend of giving it to overseas actors-beat some stiff opposition which suggests that the Oscars this year may well go to their own.

What a letdown - stayed up to watch the Ice Hockey 'grudge match' Canada v USA and half the time they hardly did anything-Canada should have had a penalty and if that was a grudge, if they both make it into the final, next time its WAR!

I do find it laughable that now people think Brown is a bully, before he was seen as being a softy and quite rightly welled up when reliving the horror of losing his child, but what does he have to do-be nice or ruthless-you're seriously telling me that Thatcher was all sweetness and light when she was in power-don't think so, we know she 'handbagged' a few people and no doubt shouted at others. Brown must ignore this bullying stuff and get on with the election-Didn't Cameron once say he was not going to be the sort of politician to enage in slanging matches across the despatch box? Didn't keep that up very long did you Dave!

Hmm so Scotland are becoming a nation of fatties eh? Isn't that old news? This is the country that ate Mars Bars dipped in batter-no wonder people are fat, but I bet they're happy.

With regards to washing money, some of our bank notes over here are plastic, so they are washing machine proof.
