This is the x64 English (US) version. To find other versions, go back up into the folder tree.

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/...2/win64/en-US/

Don't forget to disable automatic updates in Tools -> Options.
I've also gone back to the previous version, at least for a while. Bookmarks, options, add-ons were restored without problem. The only thing is that the little star to mark pages had disappeared from the bar. In that case, just go to "Personalize" and move manually the bookmark icon in the bar.
Here's the french version :

Using the new quantum with adblock and noscript they work fine, though I think the changes to the way bookmarks are used is very clumbsy and annoying.

Seems like my history in the new version has disappeared. The sqlite file is 10MB so I think the history is still there. Would rolling back to an old version restore it?

Do you mean the icon or the actual listings of your history?

In case you meant the icon, you just need to drag it back into the toolbar. (open menu > customize. I had to do that with this and with the bookmarks icon after upgrade).

Firefox has strayed far from it's roots.

Yesterday I was checking my Firefox 57 browser when I noticed a fake saved password. It was to one of those websites that is only a number (192... something). It had a User Name of "admin" and a Password of "password". I don't remember ever going to the website and I would never use such a lame password. Was this a backdoor to getting into my system? I deleted it, so the problem is probably solved. But did I have anything to worry about?

if the number is 192,168... it is probably the login to your router or another device in your local network. Perhaps a printer.

192.168. is a reserved address space for private networks. You won't find that address on the internet.

see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network

I've been using Firefox 57 since it came out for Linux. Seems faster. I only use a few add-ons like uBlock Origin, Instagram Extension Plus (to save photos from Instagram) and Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express, all of them work fine.

The only add-on I had to stop using was Video Download Helper, been using it to get videos from some popular porn videos site (which is censored here) but since Firefox switched to Quantum, this add-on and a few similar others I've tried, they all require you to install extra software on your computer; which by the way is only for Windows and maybe Mac, and I'm on Linux. So I had to get rid of this add-on.
Still, Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express works fine to get videos from YT and doesn't need extra crap... I don't get it.

Anyways, no major trouble here, besides this.

I really like the new Firefox. It doesn't load my CPU as much as Chrome while watching high resolution Youtube videos (my system is really on budget). Smooth scrolling is great, they just got it right from the beginning and I could not achieve similar results with Chrome extensions. Finally "duplicate tab" command is included in the right click menu. Page loading is really fast. So far I'm using both Chrome in FF in parallel but I really like what they did to FF overall.

I've tried this extension. You have to pay a donation now for Mp3 and 1080p. Only allowed Mp4 downloads.
