Like I said, we know what voters want: the Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez agenda. The problem wasn't with the membership. It was with the party bosses who thought that they could just do whatever the hell they felt like. I like Hillary and think that she would have made a better president than candidate. But I did not like running her with so many people, especially women, hating her.

Even with that it almost worked. Without Comey's "bomb" and Hillary's pneumonia bout down the stretch, I believe that Hillary would have carried one or more of those battleground states.

In a way it has sort of worked out. The Trump presidency is helping move the country to the left much more quickly than muddling along with "business as usual." The downside is that if Trump is reelected it becomes very difficult to imagine having enough time to derail climate change and there is a very real chance of economic difficulties. On the other hand, 4 more years of Trump will make Sanders and AOC look like moderates with who will be sent to Congress by an angry electorate.

I've given that some thought. 1980 was the last time there was a real chance to stop climate change. Carter had started making a few steps that way. Remember the solar panel array he put on the White House roof? But the voters were infatuated with a has-been movie star who had the solar array ripped out.

By 2000 climate change couldn't be stopped, but it could have been mitigated. But our fellow voters were ever so in love with Bush The Lesser. If there is any Schadenfreude left it is in the joy to be had watching Mar-A-Lago sink beneath the waves.

You mean they're not moderates? Their policies are essentially Angela Merkel's.

Default Elizabeth Warren becomes first 2020 candidate to call for Trump's impeachment

Elizabeth Warren on Friday became the most senior Democrat, and the first 2020 presidential candidate, to call for the start of impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump following the release of the special counsel’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 US election and the Trump campaign.

“To ignore a president’s repeated efforts to obstruct an investigation into his own disloyal behavior would inflict great and lasting damage on this country, and it would suggest that both the current and future presidents would be free to abuse their power in similar ways,” the Democratic senator from Massachusetts said in a statement Friday, one day after the release of a redacted version of a 448-page summary of Robert Mueller’s nearly two-year investigation.

“The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty. That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States,” Warren said.

Now that's a fine racist thing for a moderator to say.

I just knew some one would day it is racist but she did claim she was part Indian and it was my attempt at humor for a sour thread.
Plus unless a mod is modding we are just posting like the lower order members here.
(IT is a joke okay).

Default Seth Moulton: Democratic congressman enters 2020 presidential race

The Massachusetts congressman Seth Moulton has jumped into the race for the White House.

The decorated Marine Corp veteran and Harvard graduate announced his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination on Monday morning.

Drawing on his military service and youth, Moulton, 40, will portray himself as a foil to Donald Trump, who received multiple deferments from service during the Vietnam war for bone spurs. The Moulton campaign will call for a new approach to national security, defense and foreign policy.

In a video released on Monday, he said: “I’m running because we have to beat Donald Trump, and I want us to beat Donald Trump because I love this country. We’ve never been a country that gets everything right. But we’re a country that, at our best, thinks that we might. I’d be honored if you’d join me in this mission.”

Still, the congressman is a long-shot for the nomination and may struggle to distinguish himself in a field, 19-strong and expanding, which includes three members of Congress, two veterans, multiple candidates under 40 and a number of senators, among them Elizabeth Warren, who is from Moulton’s own state. Former vice-president Joe Biden, who has made clear that foreign policy and national security will be central to his campaign, is expected to enter the race this week.

Moulton will also be up against other relative upstarts: Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, is a navy veteran who has surged in polling. Moulton advisers argue that Buttigieg’s success shows a hunger for new leadership.
