Quite a few uploads on P&H seem to be corrupted, even though the thumbnails look intact, examples:

The examples that you have quoted are opening OK on my end, a little slow but they do open.

Yes, they do open, but do you think that images that are halfway grey and obviously messed up are intact? Or is it really just on my side?

I just tried both images and they opened up fully for me with no issues.

Perhaps it is just me, but recently imgbox seems to have had a big cull on older pics - suddenly I had to re-up lots of pics in my Sexy cover thread.

Sorry for seeming impertinent, this image is also corrupted on my side. I used different browsers (Firefox, Opera) and download helpers (DownThemAll!, Image HostGrabber). I'm not a computer geek, does anybody have an explanation how this can happen (antivirus software, browser add-ons, windows 10)? I never experienced something similar previously on any image host.

I have seen that sort of thing myself before. Not quite sure what precisely causes it, but I suspect that one download partially failed at some time, and the partial failure was at some level (not necessarily your computer) cached as "this is the picture". As long as the cache is not cleared that corrupt result will be repeated.

Accessing the thing via a proxy may circumvent the problem.

Thanks for your tip, it does.
But using a proxy permanently will decelerate downloads extremely.

My question still remains: What's the actual problem, and how can I resolve it? Or is the cause the cache of my Internet service provider (ISP)? Then I (and probably other German VEF members using the same ISP) would have a great problem.

Well, if it's the sort of thing I indicated it would only affect images that were cached corruptly, others would be fine. Besides, if the image is no more frequently demanded it will be taken out of the cache and the problem goes away.

If it's not the ISP then CTRL-F5 is supposed to force a reload that bypasses your own cache. But since you had the issue even with a download manager then it's likely to be at your ISP.
