I seem to remember hearing about a wild horse 'Brumby' problem years ago, although nothing recently.
Hopefully they got some kind of handle on them. Pretty much all these hard hooved large animals are descendants of those left behind by failed settlers, etc. Camels, horses, long horned cattle, as well as rabbits, foxes, cane toads etc were all introduced. Please don't get me started on the introduced plant pests |

What if you lived in Australia? You'd be celebrating this Today, Just a few facts about Oz In 1954, Bob Hawke was immortalised by the Guinness Book of Records for sculling 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds. Bob later became the Prime Minister of Australia. We have electricity, shopping malls, cars and ATMs in Australia (contrary to popular belief that we are still living in the dark ages) Apparently the first European settlers in Australia drank more alcohol per person than any other community in the history of mankind. We have over 6000 species of flies, about 4000 species of ants, and there are about 350 species of termites Melbourne has the second largest Greek population in the world, after Athens Australia has the world's largest cattle station (ranch). At 30,028 km2 it is almost the same size as Belgium. There are more than 150 million sheep in Australia, and only some 23 million people. Australia is home to six of the top ten deadliest snakes in the world The worlds best internet forum has 2 Australian moderators..... Bludgers, both of them

I will not have a word said about Australians, after all they were hand picked by some of Britain`s finest magistrates. ;-)

In fact, many of the first fleet convicts were given a choice by the magistrates, Face execution, or be deported too the new penal colony Some of these idiots actually chose execution rather than face the voyage too the paradise.... morons, they deserved too die for being stupid Sounds harsh by me, but if they're capable of making a decision like that, it means less idiots offspring today

Not any more, there aren't. 2012-13 estimate is 77.4 million. Today is also India Republic Day, well done India. We should get ourselves a more appropriate day to celebrate, how about Jan 1? |

That way maybe we can celebrate again around two weeks later. Here's hoping this only happens once every two thousand years. See ya at the next one. |
