Post Porn restrictions: List of the sex acts the UK Government is set to ban

Porn restrictions: List of the sex acts the UK Government is set to ban

According to source;
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-a7433931.html

Of relevance;
"...However, the new bill will apply not only to footage filmed in Britain, but would stop British viewers accessing any websites from around the world which contain the controversial acts."

So, thread for discussion, are we all about to download an encrypted tor browser or will there have to be a purge of content to cater to potential restrictions? That said I appreciate this forum is worldwide, so UK will only be a proportional quantity of members potentially affected. This also depends on what is "likely to fall foul of the regulations."

Open topic, curious to see what others may find/read or comment.

I would imagine sites like this are way down the list of those they will go after. It would likely be the sites whose content is wholly things that fall under the banned list or the many streaming sites. I think once again its criminalizing sexual acts that are consensual because some prude doesn't like it. The very vague “non-conventional sexual acts” part should be worrying as its a very wide phrase to interpret. I imagine down the line lots of other consensual sexual acts could fall foul.

The UK Govt has hated the internet because of what it allowed its users to do in regards to porn. Its only 16 years since it was actually legalised here in general terms. People were suddenly able to access hardcore porn and the Govt didn't like it. Since that time successive Govts have tried to make it harder and harder to access porn. Its because sex is still a taboo subject here in the UK with so many prudes in power, or at least their public persona is prudish. In reality we know that those in power now and previously are engaged in some seriously sick shit.

I'm not trying to trivialize your post, however, if you read that list you could entitle it "Things the Government Does Against My Will."

-infliction of pain or acts of lasting physical harm. check.
-activity which involves real or apparent lack of consent. check.
-penetration by any object associated with violence. check.
-any form of physical constraint which prevents participants from indicating a withdrawal of consent. check.

Scary, no?

Use of a VPN which exits outside of the UK would probably do. Or use an ISP that has the stated aim of providing a VPN service in another country to their customers, precisely to protect their users' privacy that recent legislation seeks to eradicate.

I'm considering implementing my own custom solution with Mikrotik RouterOS in a VPS hosted overseas somewhere. Not because I have anything to hide (would that my life were that exciting ) but out of general principle.

I still feel the blanket surveillance enabled by the IP bill is in direct contradiction to article 8 (the right to a private and family life), but I know lots of people disaprove of human rights law, so will be fully behind the government censoring legal porn and implementing such blanket surveillance.

In the past, the BBFC has taken a dim view of such things as fisting or DP, anything with more than two participants. Man, woman, regular sex in the bedroom is all they think is acceptable. They can't persecute homosexuality anymore (though they no doubt wish they could).

While VPNs remain legal they are the obvious answer for users. However, there may be implications for site owners. If any British nationals help to run the site, even if it's hosted overseas, they will be breaking the law if they host banned material, and could face fines. I don't know if that affects this site in any way. But if porn sites (even this site) start to ask for credit cards for age verification purposes I for one would stop using them.

This is a very ill thought out part of a wider problematic bill. If they are to block sites that feature the banned list of activities then half the web could vanish. That is because some mainstream sites feature content that is banned alongside its wider content. For example, a well known mature site features some scenes that are banned but they are a small part of the site. So will the site be blocked or will they target sites whose sole content features the banned activities.

It seems to me that the muppets in power are trying to make porn illegal bit by bit. Slowly making different acts illegal to watch so that at some point missionary position sex is all we will be able to watch. I have no problem protecting children from seeing stuff but there are other ways. This way just means you are criminalizing sexual acts between consenting adults.

This will just make even more people use a VPN which in terms means that the other part of the bill, the snoopers bit is useless. The Govt really doesn't have a clue and I suspect VPN companies are looking forward to a boom in sales.

At that point now, iirc face-sitting on the list.
How did they forget the unnatural act of titty-fucking? Oh right, they never saw or heard of the concept.

Profound revelation of strain in British character, I'm bound to say.

So I take it from reading online you Brits have had another act passed that takes you closer to a surveillance state?

Sad. I hope Trump doesn't end up letting something like that get passed here.
