The Health Care Discussion Thread

Yep. I ran a search using the obvious word HEALTH and all I got was a penis health thread, so this thread here must be pretty fresh. Anyway, this is an opportunity for a discussion about health care in the U.S., Canada, or anywhere. Is there a crisis? What are the problems and solutions? Who got us where we are? What are your experiences good or bad? That kind of thing. Try to keep it civil. Haha. I put this here because it is a politically divisive theme by nature.

I'll start out with THIS STORY that appeared on my Yahoo feed, and it really got my juices flowing...and not in a good way, like Miss April.

To answer that, everybody got us here, The public, the medical profession and Governments.

If people can get something for free they will take it.
Some medical professionals charge way too much

The Governments
We have a system here where once you earn a living 1.5% of your income goes to the Government and pays for the public system, once you earn over a certain amount which I forget the figure for, if you don't have your own private health insurance an additional 1.5% of your income is taxed and put into the public system, it's a way of making people get their own insurance. The problem is if you have private health cover you can still use the public system which of course creates a backlog of patients and blah blah blah

Greed is the problem and that is caused by everybody.
