The 'Top Four' is now apparently a 'Top Six',judging by the inane wibble uttered by the pundits of late, the 'Top Six' consists of Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool; plus Chelsea, Everton (!), Arsenal, and West Ham (!!) apparently forgetting Burnley who are being patronised in a manner all too familar to Leicester supporters.
In the meantime along with the plaudits for Roy H and Sean Dyche, a round of applause to Rafa Benitez for getting a Championship level squad of Newcastle players into mid table safety. A remarkable achievement. Arsenal could do much worse in their search for a new manager... Last edited by pierrelm; May 14th, 2018 at 05:38 PM.. |

Speaking of new managers we are currently rudderless. Apparently the three wise ones have decided that the new man will not be in place until early June, just after the season ticket renewal date (01/06/18)
ST sales not going very well then? |

Hard to think that is going to be a possibility at WHU under the Three Stooges? I wouldn't mind betting he wants to be somewhere that matches his ambition and wants to take their club seriously. And his bullshine detector has been sounding. Maybe even back to Everton? Stranger things have happened. EFC supporters think Silva coming in is a done deal, however BFWallet is curmudgeon-edly determined to keep his ample arse in the Manager's chair until told to go, banking on having a year to go on his contract and that he's done the job he was brought in to do in a club where the first team squad had lots of players but no recognisable team. Moyes can't afford another managerial failure. No wonder he doesn't fancy WHU under the current regime. |

Many of us feel that after Lerner, even Lucifer would have been more welcome at VP, so Dr Tony is the best of a bad bunch. His business interests and dodgy dealing to one side, I stick with the label that Dr Tony is a nice man, but that may change once the realisation sets in that we are not, and won’t be, possibly for a very long time… if ever again… A Premiership team. We shall have to see. As for the Big Club ethos, which many Villa fans harp on about, though I know how it came about, and I don’t just men our history… Back in the early 70s when I was 11 years old I was taken by my brother in law to almost every game, home and away, at this time we were in the old division three. Everywhere we went it was just Claret and Blue, there would be more Villa fans than home fans, it was amazing. At such an impressionable age you couldn’t help but get that feeling you were part of a Big Club! But a lot of football water has passed under the football bridge, it’s time to get real about our future. Only the other day I was telling my son, who was just 12 years old himself when I took him down VP to see us play Inter Milan, that his lad will never see the Villa we once knew. The bigger you are, the harder you fall! But if I can just drop this little footnote in…. If you believe the statistics for last season, Villa pipped Leeds in being the best supported home side, and Leeds pipped the Villa in being the best supported away side. Leeds and Villa, two footballing giants from the past…. Very much in the shadow of the Premiership! KS |

villa look like they have a couple of cavemen playing for them. Should be a good game at Wembley.
As long as dirty 'boro don't go through. |

It's actually "Dirty Leeds"...
And Boro didn't go through... 0-0 and villa won 1-0 on Agg. In theory and on paper, this play-off Final should be Fulhams... but villa are always 'lucky'...yes, I'm biased ....... but I think many nuetrals would say the same. Watched the match and it was as if it was a BFS tribute. The bloomin ball went off the top of the screen so much, I moved the ornaments off our shelves. Dire... isn't an adequate word for that match... and I love the way their fans started singing in the Last Minute of added time..... silent throughout but glorious arm-stretching screeching in the closing minute. Entitled fan-syndrom |

Say what you wish about Gareth Southgate he doesnt appear to be a gambling fool
Joe Hart & Jack Wilshere left out of England's World Cup squad https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44132401 Now the scribes are screaming they'll be too inexperienced Must be forgetting the over experienced line-up in 2010 that made some the biggest defensive blunders you could imagine. |

I thought Randolph, the Boro keeper played a blinda'. If Boro had go thru he'd most certainly had been Man of the Match. Merson pointed out that the Villa fans were patient, with a goal in the bag, they were always going to be. But when they started singing before the end I said to my missis... "It ain't over yet" Villa Park is undoubtedly a fantastic place, when it's full you get that buzz, but you can't beat going away from home, you don't get the whingers moaning for 90 minutes. We just having a "Disco" LOL After the game I had flurry of texts, all pretty much saying the same thing.. "if we play like that on the 26th... We won't beating Fulham" I'm not a fan of Play Offs, just money making and pocket emptying, the third place team are entitled to be going up, and I'm sure that's how it will be. I hope none of your ornaments got damaged during the game Meini Again, Dr Tony won't be wanting a compensation claim... KS |

Allardyce sacked by Everton. Ridiculous when you consider they were odds on for the drop when he took over. Moyes leaves West Ham. Mclaren said to be on the verge of going to QPR.
