Ted Dabney died from esophageal cancer at the age of 81.
He founded Atari along with Nolan Bushnell and he created the worldwide famous video game Pong in 1972.

Former Aberdeen player Neale Cooper has died at the age of 54. Cooper was a part of the great Aberdeen team that broke the Old Firm dominance in the early 80's.

WYFF reported on-air Monday evening that two employees of the TV station were killed just hours before while covering the impact of rain in Polk County.

During the 6 p.m. broadcast, the station showed photos of anchor and reporter Mike McCormick and photographer Aaron Smeltzer and said the two were traveling on Highway 176 near Tryon, North Carolina, when a tree fell on their station vehicle.

An article published on WYFF.com says McCormick had worked for the station since 2007 and that Smeltzer had worked in news in the region for over a decade.

“All of us at WYFF 4 are grieving,” said News Director Bruce Barkley in a press release. “We thank you for your comfort as we mourn. We ask that you keep Mike and Aaron's families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

McCormick, a Florida native, started at WYFF as a reporter in Spartanburg and later became the weekend anchor for the station's 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. shows, the press release stated.

Smeltzer was from Virginia, but lived and worked in the Upstate for more than 10 years. He started working at WYFF just this year, according to the release.

Leading Manx road racer Dan Kneen has died at the Isle of Man TT, organisers have confirmed. Kneen, 30, sustained fatal injuries at the Churchtown section during the Superbike qualifying session on Wednesday. A second rider injured in a later incident in a collision with a course car was taken to Nobles Hospital. Kneen was riding for the Northern Ireland-based Tyco BMW at this season's major international road races. "ACU Events Ltd wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Dan's partner Leanne, his family and his many friends in the road racing community and beyond," a statement from event organisers said. Kneen set his fastest ever lap of the TT Mountain Course on Tuesday night at 132.258mph to lie third fastest in qualifying for the Superbike event. The Manx man was Irish Superbike champion in 2014 and had previously ridden for a number of other leading teams including Northern Ireland outfits Cookstown Burrows Engineering and Mar Train Yamaha, plus Yorkshire-based Padgetts Honda. His one international success came in the 2014 Ulster Grand Prix Superstock race. Earlier in May he won the feature race at the Tandragee 100, setting a new course record in the process.
