And an Afro-Japanese woman at that.

I understand that Serena Williams got frustrated, no matter how misplaced her rage was, but the accusations of sexism and racism are ridiculous. However, even worse was the behavior of the audience toward Naomi Osaka. She earned her victory and did not deserve the hissing and whistling from the snob audience.

I have no issue with any sports people calling out decisions by judges/officials, they play to win and its in their DNA, no problem. Yes, we are all human and we all have situations that get under our skin, I get that.

However! I expect a sportsperson - especially a high profile professional - in situations like this, whether they think its unfair or otherwise, to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Nothing wrong with showing emotion but for fucks sake, get a hold of yourself and go through the proper official protocol to address the situation in a manner befitting a professional.

If one has an ego to go with a history of acting out because of situations not in their favor then they need to get their collective shit together and not be surprised to get fines and penalties regardless if they are feeling unjust.

It is hard to believe that 17 years ago today two large towers collapsed in New York City killing many people that worked inside as two planes smashed into them. The ensuing cloud of dust that barrelled up the street looked like something akin to a Hollywood disaster-style special effect but this was no film and very, very real. Terror was etched on the faces of the people fleeing for their lives including the police and fire fighters who were desperately trying to get them to safety. Later it was horrific to hear the number of names read out who lost their lives on that terrible day.

I remember it vividly. I was working for my grandfather, employed as a carer for him and I had made his lunch and bringing in mine. I switched the BBC news on and watched the horrific and confusing situation play out with different angles of when the planes slammed into the Twin Towers and the link from our news people to the US newscasters. When I eventually made my way to the bus station I expected people to be discussing it but it was like nothing had happened - remember in those days there was no widespread internet use and no social media apart from Friends Reunited and MySpace etc but the only way to get your news was the television and the radio. Today it would spread fast and comments would be posted thick and fast. It was a day I will NEVER forget and it is right that we NEVER forget and that also goes for our own outrage 7-7(the day after we won the right to stage the 2012 Olympics)

She and her sister are always crying racism whenever they don't agree with a judge's decision or whenever they start losing.

Both of them are the biggest racists ever.

Just like Beyonce's Dad.

Whenever she is nominated for an award and she doesn't win it, he cries racism.

Whenever she is not nominated for an award in a category, he cries racism.

Let's hear more British honesty. It only cost a few million lives, maimings, and refugees. Not much, is it? The clip is only 25 seconds, unlike your link

Have to disagree there. The Neo-con agenda has some congruence with some parts of the Israeli agenda, but elsewhere its very very different.

For example, Bush and the neo con true believers strongly supported free elections in the Middle East, and pushed very hard for democracy in Gaza and Egypt.

The Israelis were horrified by this. . . they had a pretty good idea of who'd get elected, and in fact the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Hamas in Gaza proved them right.

So while there's overlap in places, just as Israel has an overlap with, say, Putin in places (particularly Avigdor Lieberman)-- there are also lots of fundamental differences.

As such we are not within their "jurisdiction". Many also don't like their attempts to put people on trial for events that occurred decades before the ICC was founded. In the US we don't allow retroactive application of laws.

As for Israel, I admit I don't know but I strongly suspect that they are also not signatories to the treaty in question.
The fact that America does not recognise international law does not mean that she is not subject to the rule of international law. The court has been legally established by the United Nations - 120 nations voted for it and 7 against. The USA and Israel are two of the seven against.

Possibly the United States can make a serious bid for pariah status and leave the United Nations next? I'm sure there will be takers for her permanent seat and veto on the Security Council if she does - Syria, perhaps.

This graceless, arrogant and blustering administration really gets up my nose, and I am firmly pro-American (ask Brecht or Palo5). How many life-long friends can America afford to alienate before she finds herself alone in the world?

IIRC Mrs Thatcher had pretty bad Alzheimers towards the end. She would still probably have been a better option than Cameron or Theresa May. I'm not sorry she is gone, but I didn't go to any street parties or celebrate her demise as some oafs and morons did.
