In the far off days of the Internet there was absolutely nothing around, no Google only Lycos, Altavista, DogPile etc search engines which would return very little content and the only way to find stuff was either joining Yahoo Groups(or smartgroups as they were) OR going to the paid-for sites and either signing up for their content or just taking the free stuff and working like that. Forums came along later-via newsgroups and members were taking time to upload and scan tons of good stuff and of course we went "great, no need to pay for it, lets just take what we want" I myself never intended to join this forum but one day I sat at my machine and I thought "Okay, I've yet to give back so lets do that" and I joined and within a few months had not only added some stuff from my collection but bought a ton of magazines from E-Bay etc and scanned hundreds of things. All I had to do next was create a thread and bingo a chance to share stuff. Fast forward a few years and the first signs of trouble loomed-someone mentioned that a website had nicked most of our stuff and pretending it was someone elses-but we knew it was our stuff, as I said elsewhere I had a stupid name but the wording and the pictures posted were mine and others. I've looked at other sites and recognised a lot of members' stuff AND a video I made was also leeched from here ending up on another website for porn! I don't think you can stop people from taking stuff-it's their nature to steal OR want to join in on a forum so they find the nearest thing and pass it off as their own. Annoying, but hey what can you do.

The dogs bark, and the caravan moves on.

But anyroad, what I actually want to babble about this time is something that has been puzzling me slightly while reading this thread and the previous ones (going back to 2011 at least) on the same subject. I understand that some magazine-scanners and video-encoders who have posted their files for VEF users to download are pissed off at the bad piracy of the greedheads as opposed to their own good nonprofit piracy in the public interest. But I have to wonder whether they have thought the thing through to any extent. For instance, apparently VEF has 462,159 members, and the membership is increasing at a rate of 228,000 per day ... oops, sorry, no; that daily increase is to the human population of the planet, not to VEF. In any case, there are however many hundreds of thousands of people potentially downloading whatever stuff is uploaded to the file hosts & image hosts and pointed to by posts on VEF. OK, given that, here is a hypothetical question for those prolific scanners and encoders who do tend to get pissed off about the bad piracy: What if most of those registered VEF users happen to be jerks and/or greedheads and/or leeches who don't contribute anything and whom you wouldn't want to know socially and wouldn't want to be donating your porn collection to? (Like me, for instance.) What if they are taking all of your posted files, without acknowledgment or thanks, and quietly redistributing them amongst all of their friends who are not VEF members? Doesn't that bother you? Just wondering. To go along with that, for perspective, here is a quote of an earlier reply in this thread, representing one voice (not the only one) of rationality and equanimity: I agree. |

Given those doing it are most likely reading this thread a futile exercise perhaps Previous uploaders have tried deleting the original uploads 3-4 days later and then re-upping but it was just nuisance value for everyone. Only method that has ever worked against these types is not uploading The lure of rewards in all its forms will always mean someone will be at it As filehosts with cash rewards start renegging on paying their uploaders (see wjunction threads) they will err towards blogs with ad revenue stealing links to pad it out. The only thought that popped into my head recently was exposing the site via an adult review site. If anything like the independent honest defunct x3guide still exists might help to expose the chicanery at play. We're a bunch of guys and girls writing these reviews. We're not writers or journalists by trade, but we've been around the net for many years now, and we know alot about which sites are worth a look, aswell as what should be avoided. Unlike the other review-sites which contain outright lies, or will give any site a good rating as long as it brings in some banner money. Warlock: Piracy Wisdom (It Kinda Makes Sense)
Dear Contributors,
I find myself agreeing with Buttsie (especially about avoiding retaliation for spam attacks)! I did know a few people who ran chat servers (back in the day) and they had a real problem with DDOS attacks (Not sure that's the same as spam attacks.. But you know, similiar). So yeh, once you start down the net-guerilla warfare route, eventually you gonna run into someone like "The Warlock" who can re-route a tracker probe via 16 different countries and tap into the NSA servers before you can say: "Holy Router Switching Routines!" Like Greenman, I joined VEF to "give something back" (after finding my way here to find some rare porn... probably Annabel Chong stuff!) But thats the kicker... VEF (Original site) is filled with quality contributors... Leecher sites never have that kind of community spirit or quality about them, do they? So.. Years later I'm still with you guys, coz u are the real mccoy and I always feel I got real support here! So yeh... Thats my take. By the way, dont worry: "Warlock" was just a fictional character from feature film "Die Hard 4". He's a kind of hero of mine (in the sense that he knows the Big Boys are serious and not nerds, so he kinda exercises wisdom).... McClane: "Jesus, look at that - this whole area's blacked out! How we gonna find Warlock's house?" Farrell: " ...Probably gonna be the one with the lights still on... " Kind Regards, NB. Last edited by nbwriter; September 27th, 2018 at 10:43 PM.. This isn't piracy as discussed already, but a certain junior member
has been re-posting all my uploads on a well known tube site. No thought to ask, my ups are for the forum, not for the wider world. I won't be upping any more paid-for stuff now, just rips I get elsewhere. Only 4 posts on here, but dumb enough to use the same ID!! Last edited by mucowag; October 4th, 2018 at 09:49 PM.. |

I recently stumbled to PornCoven, just to see to my surprise that some of my posts were replicated there, among other stuff ripped from VEF. I have never registered to such forum.

There are several vintage movie sites I regularly grab movies from.
They almost all use cash-hosters, so the downloads can be long and slow. For one reason or another I usually convert them, aspect ratio, format, removing "Letterboxing", or just improving them if I can. This results in a pretty unique file, which I can host here, free for members, on a decent, fast host. I have then seen some of my files re-hosted on these movie sites, so the site owners are obviously downloading stuff from here. But hey, I take from them, they take from VEF, but at least the content is distributed, and it's always free and fast here on the forum. |
