^^ Ok. But when is the 'right time' ?

After all an International season is Autumn Internationals >> Six Nations >> Summer Tour >> repeat the last three etc...

That is why a potential successor should be identified and work with the 'older hand'.

A good example IMO is Rob Howley. Did really well when Gatland was on Lion's duty and is prime candidate to succeed him.

I'd say between the Six Nations and end of the domestic season - gives Jones a chance to have a good look at the potential candidates in their own habitat.

Eddie Jones did a brilliant job as coach of Japan in the recent RWC. Whether he'll find that level with England is an entirely different matter as the management culture in England is completely different than he would have experienced with Japan - and with his previous coaching roles too.

Well Eddie has now started and immediately is up against the 'establishment'

Seems his hands are tied in his selection for the 6-Nations with only a minimum of changes allowed from the World Cup squad.

While Eddie (and whoever actually pulls the strings) pontificates on the future make-up of his coaching team - today's Mail suggested an announcement was imminent and it did not look promising for the current incumbents - Wales, have got their man.

Shaun Edwards, who has slipped through England's fingers more than once, has agreed terms to stay at Gatland's side until the next RWC.

Shaun Edwards is huge in Welsh Rugby he would never leave.
European Cup weekend looks very bleak for the Irish teams

^^ Indeed. But he was out of contract and money does talk.

But, yes, it would be a no-brainer to leave unless the terms of re-engagement were not right.

Did anybody notice how little Josh Matavessi was used by Fiji during the world cup? He played in all the warm up games, was pivotal in the Pacific Nations Cup, scoring loads of points in the semi final, but hardly touched the pitch during the RWC!

Well Ospreys fans take note! He is fit, he is hungry and he is back home at the Liberty!

No actual announcement from England but it seems that info is being 'leaked'

Both Catt and Rowntree may be released. The fitness guy has it appears has gone.

That leaves Farrell and the feeling is that he will be retained to maintain 'some familiarity'.
But surely since selection played a large part in Lancaster's downfall and, if rumours are to be believed, Farrell had a not insignificant part in that, can Eddie really work with him ? (athough he has before)

To my mind Catt should be retained, England's scrum was pathetic at the RWC, and for that I think Rowntree should go, the potential in England and the player pool, should mean no England scrum should struggle.

Farrell should go too, but he perhaps falls into the Andrew category? Even if he was doing life for murder, he would still have a full time job!
