This clip did actually reappear a second time in the ‘softcore’ version of EB 18 (if I recall the number correctly) but in a shorter edited down version of the song, although it did have, literally, a few seconds of extra footage that didn’t appear in the earlier version. Right at the end of the clip, Debbie looks up from the table and gives one of her dazzling smiles.

I had this once, and taped it over (after copying off the Debbie segment, the Jo Phillips segment, and some other stuff). Just recently I noticed that my copy (due to poor tape traction control of the target VCR) was cropped to just before the second she smiles. Aaargh!

It seems like a stupid thing to do, but back then I needed video tape more than I needed this video, which was all in all pretty much of a let-down.

I still have the footage mentioned by lamod and myself, and could post it. But really, the version Cueking posted is better. Mine has bigger resolution, but is shorter and somewhat grainier. Also, the sound may be worse.

I'm not sure what constitutes a "softcore" version of an EB tape. Weren't they all pretty much softcore?

Thanks for jogging my memory - I didn't realise I'd got a reply to my query in the mag requests section about this pic and hadn't checked back after the first couple of months. So today is the first time I've seen that Lolita pic.

Here's a newspaper article about that advert, unfortunately this was a screencap, so the text quality isn’t clear in the body of the article, but from the bolder type bits, it looks like she was going to sue over it - I wonder if she did sue and if she was successful?

Speaking of screencaps: here's one from aforementioned EB #006 which may have been overlooked. I'm posting it for any other obsessive-compulsive collectors like me, who must have absolutely everything.
I just obtained a VHS cap of this tape, and this appears for a second in the vignette. It's obviously out of footage from the "Brooklyn Bars" video, but this particular shot never made it into the video proper.

Should I bother posting stuff like this? Hit the 'thanks' button to give me an idea of the level of interest in these 'leftover' tidbits. It may affect my scanning choices in the future.

In an attempt to liven up a splendid but largely dormant thread, I think it's time I started contributing for real.
So as not to jack up everyone's expectations too much, I'm starting off witrh the least impressive stuff, and later work my way up to the 'good stuff'.

What follows in this post and the immediate ones to come are are some scans of tiny, grainy, black and white Debbie shots. They appear to be sort of Page 3 stuff, although they haven't appeared on any page 3 I've seen (then again, I don't have access to the Sun)

I've found them as decorations in crosssword puzzles and similar. They're about as good as they're gonna get, given their tiny size and the quality print of the originals.

A cursory glance at the images posted so far in this thread indicates that most of these are sort of new. If anyone has better versions, please fork them over. Wouldn't it feel good to trump me?



That Revelation cover is particularly intriguing. Has anyone laid their eyes (or hands) on a copy of this issue? If there's a photo set inside, that would be golden. Otherwise I'd be thrilled to see even a moderately decent scan of the cover in color. I don't even remember where I found this one; probably in an ad for back issues or similar. My original print, cut out of some mag long forgotten, is less than one inch by two inches on coarse paper, which explains why the quality is so sucky.

The second pic in the second row, I do have, but can't trump you on that one - in fact, it's game set and match to you as I think mine came from the same source as yours - a tiny pic on a crossword page on a Sweedish mag, and your scan is better than mine.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the rest of your posts in this series and when you've finished, I'll do a search of my Debbie archives to see if I've still got anything that won't have already appeared on this thread.

I recognise 3 of these as having appeared on page 3 - pics 1, 3 & 5. (I think they're the same, if not, very close.) These page3.com versions of two of them can be found in posts 5 & 81, although these page 3.com pics are often very small themselves, so it might be a moot point as to whether they are ‘better’ than these. I’m still glad to see these versions as well - good to have all the variations in printing, texture etc.

The page 3 version of pic 3 doesn’t seem to be on this thread. They slightly cropped the ‘crossword’ version here, I think the p*ge 3 one extended to the left and bottom a bit. I’m sure I’ve got it somewhere, but maybe someone else has it to hand and will post it…..

It could well be that more of these crossword pics also featured as page 3 pics, as according to the Debbie page on page 3.com, she appeared in the Sun 73 times; I’ve only ever seen around 30 of her page 3.com pics.

Even more ‘interesting’, scans of the original Debbie Sun newspaper pages just don’t seem to exist on the Internet (unless I’ve been looking in the wrong places). I can only ever recall seeing one, and that was in ‘reduced size’. It bore the headline “Look Who’s Dropped In!”. I’ll post it in due course, unless someone does so in the interim.

Bearing in mind her popularity and the number of her page 3 appearances, it’s quite surprising that more scans of Sun newspaper page originals have never shown up. I think original Sun newspaper pages of her on Ebay are also very rare to see, though maybe I just missed them at the time.....

@lamod: Yes, I missed that a couple of these have appeared in the thread already. Actually, the ones already posted look better (as well they should, probably having been digitized from the original prints or negatives). Mine are bigger and have higher resolution, and *might* look slightly better when printed. Which is just about all they've got going for them.

Because ImageBam is slow and unreliable in serving up thumbnails, and because my IP's DNS server sucks, I can't always see all the images posted. Moreover, the browser's layout engine doesn't leave gaps in the sequence for images which haven't been loaded. So "Pic #3" keeps me guessing which one is referred to.

I'm guessing that you're talking about 'Debbie with the pitchfork'. I have this one as well, with a bit more waist and hip in the picture, plus jeans tantalizingly unzippered.

Unfortunately, the paper copy is in such a sorry state that it's *almost* beyond repair. I spent most of last night trying to whip it into presentable shape, but the results were so blurry that it almost looked like oil paint.

When I scan one of these, I apply some very careful dust and scratch removal, but only to get rid of damage caused by time and wear or clumsy printing. Also, I'm doing my best to defeat the 'moiré effect' introduced by the texture of the paper.

I'm almost ridiculously careful not to distort any 'original' feature. If there's a birthmark or a scar, I want it preserved. Every goosebump accounted for, if at all possible. If I can't touch up the image without distorting it, I'll simply keep it as it is, grain and scratches and all. Call me anal-retentive if you will (I certainly would agree), but I'm obsessive about fidelity to the original even in cases which don't really warrant such meticulous care.

To give you an idea of what I had to work with, here's the raw scan, warts and all:

Don't bother downloading it, unless you'd like to take a stab at touching it up. It's really horrible quality. PhotoShop wiz kids amongst us are welcome to give it a try. And needless to say, if you've got a better version, hand it over.

Apologies to anyone who feels these constitute a 're-post'. I'll be making more of them, but will try forthwith to limit postings to clear improvements upon what's already here.

Oh, and, lamod: thanks a lot for that PH cover. It was a new one to me. Have we seen the set inside? I'd like to take a look at 'Angela'. And a 'favorite of the year' seems to warrant a spread.

Thanks for post, which is great - but - the madness continues! I’ve not seen that one before.

Sometimes my mind can play tricks because a girl can only adopt so many positions to pose in, but in this case, I do remember that ’streaky’ patterned background, which isn’t in this pic. It might be it was a scan someone gave me once in the past. I did lose some scans, as when I was about to change my PC, I transferred all my pics onto a DVD, and then being cautious, copied them onto a second DVD, just in case. It seemed foolproof, but I hadn’t allowed for the recording head in the PC being faulty, and to my horror, later, after my original PC was disposed of, I discovered a number of pics on both DVD’s had been corrupted. Maybe that was one of them.

Yes, pic 3 was the one you thought it was - I’ll have to pass on trying to improve it. I have great admiration for people on VEF like yourself who have elevated scanning into an art form, but I must confess I’m one of those ‘stick it in the scanner and press the button’ people.

Re Penh*use - sadly Debbie was only on the cover, there were no other pics of her inside the mag. Also, sadly, I can’t provide any other scans from the mag, as when I stopped actively collecting Debbie mags, I gutted them all to reduce the space they took up and only retained the covers/pages Debbie was on.

As I’m here, instead of rambling on any more, I ought to do something useful, so here’s those two I mentioned earlier. Credit to the original scanner for the first pic, no idea where I got it from now, but if that person is a VEF member and reads this message and still has the newspaper page, and wants to scan the full size version......
