The Manchester One Love concert is on this Sunday and some might ask is it too early to put on another concert BUT let's face it one bomber is not going to dampen the spirits of the Mancunians AND the victims that survived that terrible ordeal. Why shouldn't they have a concert that celebrates life for all? Some families that were there probably considered not going but then thought stuff it! why let one fanatic with a grudge against a city spoil it for us-and good for them, I hope they have a fantastic time and maybe for a few hours forget their ordeal and the horror and just celebrate being alive.

Just finished watching the Leaders Debate(Theresa May & Jeremy Corbyn) and both were given a real grilling by some of the audience yet Corbyn was cheered when he came to do his stint. I do think it is very naive of some people in that audience who seem to think there is a 'red button' that is pushed by a leader when launching a nuclear strike - are they really that stupid? There is no red button it is an order that would be given by a leader to the base of operations either ground or aboard a submarine and the people aboard or inside, along with special keys and codes are the people that will launch a missile and they are the ones who will have to live with that for the rest of their lives-whereas the leader will have to live with the thought that they gave the actual order to go ahead.
No country that is not a threat to anyone else should be without some kind of deterent - that is the key word to 'deter' anyone thinking of actually launching a strike. We obviously need some kind of deterrent to stop other unfriendly countries that god forbid have a nuclear capability like Iran or North Korea from doing anything. It is appalling to think that some lunatic(like Kim Jung-Un) would even contemplate the thought of attacking a country with nuclear weapons just to boost his already godlike status to his brainwashed robotic-like people. No real leader of country should ever think that way UNLESS there is no other way and all forms of communication to stop it happening have irrevocably broken down.

As I stated here http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...ostcount=30798 The problem is with the system which 1 - allows Ticketmaster a monopoly 2 - allows real fans a snowballs chance in hell of getting a ticket from the allegedly legitimate source 3 - does fuck all to police the scum who anyone with half a brain knows is being abused. Solution - get rid of Ticketmaster, if people had to buy tickets off the venue it would be less open to abuse, Ticketmaster is a touts supermarket

No country's government perceives themselves as the threat (even the North Korean Regime in their own special view of the world). So should every country get nukes as a deterent? Does this make the world safer? |

I do not know how many of you have worked with youngsters, but I coached a junior side, and it is interesting how many of my attitudes have rubbed off! A lot of my values are theirs, for good or ill. Today I met up with one of my former colts. It was a nice experience to see the callow youth as a man! I have to admit to a touch of almost paternal pride! He is a serving Police Officer having done a few years in the Royal Marines, and many other of those scrawny kids have gone into the Forces, Police, many have gained degrees and I do not doubt that a few have sadly gone the wrong way.
BUT what I found noticeable, was that many of the views and attitudes of this young man, were similar to mine, service, commitment to others, team attitude, honesty and pride! Some of the boys were outsiders, but Rugby gave them a bunch of mates, sometimes for the first time, I love the fact that so many remain in touch with each other. My point is that when you are influencing young minds, be aware, it last forever! |
