hovhaness,

Not exactly sure what you're saying here but can't you do the same thing by just holding down the Control key (in Windows) and then using you're mouse wheel to zoom in or out? Don't have to add a thing.

Yes this works as well
However I think that once your session is over it reverts, whereas with Nosquint you can set it to stay this way permanently..
Ctrl+4 clicks up on the scroll wheel is pretty simple though so this is also a great option if you don't want to add any extensions.

My impression is that things work the other way round: Firefox remembers your zoom level on a site-by-site basis. For example, I keep VEF zoomed in a few steps to get rid of the wasted margin space.

This makes the text and images easier to see, but at the cost of getting less vertically on the screen - my personal preference. What Firefox doesn't provide is a way of setting a zoom level on all sites at once, including those you have yet to visit - for this, you need extensions like NoSquint.

Thats the way it works for me. Whenever I go back to a page I've used Ctrl + mouse wheel its the same size as before. Otherwise, a page is the default pixel size.

I would get rid of the Nosquint but I just have become so used to the ability to change just the text size on most sites & leave the page size as is.
CBS Sports is one example where the graphics are very nice but the text too small

I said this earlier about the extension ImageGrabber:

I'm not now sure that this is true, or perhaps not always true. But you can always save that kind of image using the extension Save Images; it's highly customisable, and I find that it, along with Linky and ImageHost Grabber, will cope with just about every image-saving requirement.

Default New Logo

Firefox 23 introduced a subtly different new logo. Maybe you can't see a difference, but if you prefer the old one, here's a way to get it back. I'm posting this because I've just read about a method of altering the executable file itself using Resource Hacker, which seems over the top. I've only tried this on Windows 7.

You need a shortcut to Firefox - this won't work on the exe. Right-click to open the context menu and select 'Properties', then 'Change Icon'. This should open showing icons in your current Firefox.exe. All you need to do is use 'Browse' to navigate to a different Firefox.exe and select an icon inside it, then press 'OK' twice. (Windows 7 users: you can unpin the existing Firefox from your Taskbar, and then pin the new one there, then delete the shortcut itself after that, if you like.)

Obviously before you start you need to have an old, pre-23, Firefox.exe that has the old icon in. I found one, for some reason, in "Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firefox", so try there, but if not, you could use an old installation file or download one from here; you need to use 7Zip or similar to unzip it first.
