The strangest thing about American leftists is that, up through the '60s and '70s, they promised to remove restrictions on sex and nudity: gay rights, abortion choice, contraceptives, and pornography were to be legalized. Then they somehow reversed their opinions, mostly because of Second Wave feminism, and they now consider pornography or sexual innuendos (mostly by straight males) to be evil incarnate. What went wrong?

Not all of us, but we may have grown more conservative with age. Plus, we have experienced female sexual harassment and unwanted advances.

There is a kerfluffle in sports circles. Jerry Richardson owner of the NFL Carolina Panthers has been accused and sued for inappropriate sexual behavior towards female staff members. Many players and fellow owners have expressed sadness that he is in trouble and noted that their relationships with Mr Richardson have been very positive. This brings up a fact in male relationships. A fellow might be a great guy and trusted friend without our knowing what a creep he is around women.

Also, times are changing and boundaries being redrawn. Plus, many of us have made mistakes along the way and had "learning experiences" in the process of growing up. (Aside - one of the biggest skirt chasers I ever knew wound up fathering four daughters, which is karma at its best.) Finally, I may be a cynic, but I predict that even if women come up with a consistent set of boundaries for sexual behavior, women will immediately begin undermining and violating those boundaries.

It's quite obvious that the Policemen involved do not know the law, nor are they are aware of the nuances of the law.

It is illegal to carry an offensive weapon, but not illegal to use a kitchen knife ( a household tool) in defence of ones children. No jury would find a seven stone woman guilty of protecting her children from the threat of two adult males (or almost adult) but they would find policemen guilty of very stupid posturing. Sadly the police are no longer told to be grown up and adult about such matters.
