Thumbs up Sharing with bruno, from demsal

Hi guy!
I like what you do, and you've done something I never considered by specifying the different color schemes. But we need to connect somehow about who's going to do what picture so we don't do unnecessary work. especially if this gets busy in the future. I'm taking pictures one and three from mlorenc and leaving you the hard one (lots of busy stuff in the background). Let me know if this is ok with you.

p.s. Maybe you could share with me how you get these pictures off the VEF site. I'm still a neophyte at this stuff.

Glad you like it guys.
@demsal
we can talk 'bout with a messenger, got MSN or ICQ?..If so, please send me your contact details per PM.
You can do Pic 1&3. Image 2 will be tricky, caused by the poor greyscale rate. Don't expect a good result :/. Guys please try to find your fav. image in the best quality before requesting here. Thanks in Advance. Sometimes it seems to be just wasting time, coloring LowQuality pictures.
@demsal
what do you mean by "p.s. Maybe you could share with me how you get these pictures off the VEF site. I'm still a neophyte at this stuff."
bye

I admire the way you do this bruno but its a bit like colorising 'The Longest Day'(if you are familiar with that particular war film) its doesn't work because it loses the grittiness and sheer awfulness of War. Similarly to my mind a picture that was done in black & white should stay like that otherwise it loses its credibility-in other words it becomes false. However I can see that many like this system of changing b&w to colour so well done for doing that but personally if a black & white pic was that to begin with, it should stay that way or vice versa-I am in no way denigrating your commitment to this here btw.

Hey Greenman,
I think the same way. But only in the artistic way, It's like covering an old song. The original will ever stay the best, but a cover sounds sometimes good, too. For me, it's a way to see this people how the looked in real. Its not an artistic aspect I'm following here. If I start coloring my Fathers old Photos, I just want to see his old Village, Environment, Him etc... from the Eyes of the Photographer, not from the Camera.

Red face Finished pictures for mlorenc

Hi again. I've been off line for the last 18 hours because a fierce thunderstorm cut off my internet access point. Maybe affected more than just mine because the post office said their system was belly up. Anyway, below are the two finished pictures for mlorenc. I'd like to point out that this is a 'erotic' site and putting three pictures of fully dressed women on a request seems out of the ordinary. I'd really rather get a nude to do. But, they are good looking women, and they are women.
Bruno: P.S. is a shorthand term for 'post script' meaning notes after the main body of the message. As for how I get them, a new tool called snipping in Win7, but as with the first pict I did, some are too big and need to be imported in two pieces then patched together in my processing.
No, I don't use MSN and am not familiar with the other terms you used. It seems to me there may be a back door method of communicating on this site since I see a 'private message waiting' button at the top of the home page. I don't know how to use it though.
Finally, the results you've all been waiting for:

Thumbs up Colorizing debate

While we're waiting for something else to come up, I'd like to weigh in on the colorizing debate. Yes, many times artists/photographers/directors chose to make their medium in black and white, and I respect those choices. However, you need to realize that choice was not always available. Before the 1930's, there was no such thing as color film. Even when color became available, it was not used because of the expense, it was a lot more costly than b&w. During the 40's, 50's and 60's, most magazines that would publish nudes (and many others like 'Life') were b&w. A photographer who was a businessman chose to reduce his cost since the finished product was going to be monochrome anyway.
Another reason for chosing b&w over color was the range of the film. Color film would only show clearly one f-stop above and below the setting of the camera while b&w would provide discrimination to plus and minus 3 stops. If you're shooting in the sun, with well lit areas and very dark shadows, b&w was the medium of choice; you could see thing in the picture which color film would not capture. So often, the use of b&w was a technical limitation, one of necessity.
I remember reading one time that color films were offered during the very early 1900's. Their production was as a plain b&w, then someone sat down and colorized each frame of the film individually, and had to do so for many copies of the film. Despite the obvious expense, these films made money because people would pay a premium to see them.
I have colored some old family pictures including one of my great-grandmother which was probably taken around 1890, and my family loves it My mother, who died last year in her 90's enjoyed seeing the old pictures renewed in color.

@Sam Spade thanks mate, so do a request if you like our stuff @demsal excellent job on the second one. but the blue dress of that girl above is too saturated. could you please use less color on that, and reupload it? the skincolor dosent match to the lips, too. you could make the lips brighter or the skin darker. The legs could use also a very little bit of an skincolor tone .
And I know what post scriptum means , I just didn't understand the meaning of that sentence (I'm from Germany). But I think I got it now, you want to know how to make thumbnails (b&w & colored) like mine? You have to upload the both pictures at the same time, then you will receive a link-address of the both pictures together you can post it on here. About Sam Spades comment - he just wrote that he likes our stuff, the rest below is his signature, it has nothing to do with us,.. it's always under his posts And I totally agree to your History-Lesson the most of them where made, because they had no other possibilites.

Edit: here's the 3rd picture for mlorenc
