Faint praise indeed...but a proper cup-tie; I do wish the 'clever' pundits would shuttup about Spurs not having won anything yet - it's easy enough to work that out without any help. Tiresome how there has to be an angle to criticize and carp on about, instead of enjoying some half decent football.

Default Wigan 1 - 0 Man City

WELL...I'll say it....

Well Done Wigan

With 17% Possession...4 SHOTS, {2 On Target}
...versus 83% Possession .....29 SHOTS, {only 5 On Target}

That's a Man City FAIL...imo.... and I don't think their players had a 'couldn't-care-less' attitude. Probably an 80-90% 1st choice eleven.No mass resting of 5-8 players as we've witnessed every year from Top Clubs.
A serious selection.... and a Man City FAIL.

Has to be...imo.

...and Kyle Walker showing why he is the most over-rated fullback in world football. He has made precisely the same error twice that I can recall while playing for England - it's the fact that he doesn't learn which is disconcerting.

When ever a team over achieves the cracks get papered over
The media build the pacy UK players up as the new saviour

Followed shortly after as being over rated

When clubs start spending silly transfer money - i thought 31mil for Luke Shaw
was bizarre - expectations reach foolish heights.

Walker strikes me as another Glen Johnson

Think their pace can make up for bad decision making
which leads to being out of position.

They probably think their Cafus heir apparent

Arsenal now fluffing their lines in Europa

sure bet - quarter final exit - opponent - a misfiring AC Milan

THU 22 FEB 2018 EUROPA LEAGUE - ROUND OF 32 - 2ND LEG

The Gunners won the first leg 3-0 but one of football's great shocks looked on the cards at half-time after the visitors struck two goals in 70 seconds.

Arsenal 1(47) Ostersunds FK 2(22,23)

(Agg 4-2)

Shaw was so promising when he played for Southampton; the money was another Ferdinand/Pogba scale sweeping gesture by MUFC - look at our wad! His England debut had him looking like our best l/b prospect for years - unfortunately he seems to have gone backwards at MU and not just because of his injury. Another wonderful prospect from that same Sothampton side was Calum Chambers - Arsenal must have the curse of doom for any young English player who joins them, which guarantees that their development as a footballer ceases the minute they pull on the white sleeved red shirt.

The Walker/Glen Johnson comparison is 100% - well put

As for Ostersunds, their recent history is quite simply stunning - I can see a bad film being made of their story...

Elsewhere, Alan Pardew reputed to have two games to breathe some life into the Baggies or exit the Hawthorns. Surely the most predictable managerial 'never going to work' appointment of the season?

Glen Johnson should have stayed with us, still when your relegated and those pensioners with funds come calling.....

When you not quite that good but can probably get away with it in a side that can cover bases. The highlight for Glen was Euro 2012, I thought he was our best player, all down hill since.

Sometimes players should stay as a biggish fish in a small pond, rather than heading to a pond with even bigger fish.
