No wonder La Gazzetta dello Sport had the headline 'Ungrateful English' for Claudio's sacking: I thought I wasn't surprised anymore about football these days, but the sacking of Claudio Ranieri left me flabbergasted. I'd still be more likely to blame the players rather than your ex-manager for Leicester's current state, especially if the rumours about player power behind Claudio's sacking are true.

It's a little ironic that similar player discontent at Chelsea helped Leicester win the title last year,Now it may get Them relegated...

Lets put the Ranieri saga to bed chaps, after all, enough has been said.
One camp claims he is the victim, the other says he is the villain. Regardless of our views, he's gone. It's now history. So the MULTI MILLIONAIRE Ranieri is out of work, I doubt he will be spotted at the local jobcentre, unless he's autograph signing of course. The same sad fate has befallen many top flight managers both here and abroad, and it will continue to do so, it might even happen to the MULTI MILLIONAIRE we have in charge at Old Trafford at some point, who knows? It might be sad, but I sincerely doubt that any of them will struggle financially, the only damage amounting to a bruised ego and reputation..... |

That's why this week's events had left a sour taste - but you are right, Ranieri will bounce back. My sympathy is with fellow VEF member captain fanta.

The reality is and this applies to all clubs and all managers that sentiment doesn't count for shit when you are struggling. Boards, chairmen and owners will 99% of the time sack anyone if the club is not performing. It doesn't matter what you did before its about what you are doing now in their eyes. The most recent exception to the rule was Dyche who Burnley kept and who got them back up at the first attempt. Now they sit mid table with a good chance of securing a second season.
In Ranieri's case many, if not most fans, thought he had earned the right to finish the season. However I do wonder how those fans would have felt had he taken them down to the Championship? I suspect many of those same fans then would be moaning about the board and owners for keeping him. |

It would appear that Claudio Ranieri was well and truly stabbed in the back by FOUR of his players including Jamie Vardy-there's loyalty for you!! Leicester City play Liverpool Monday and this time I really hope that Liverpool stick it to them. I feel sorry for the fans but Championship football beckons-however I hope they still continue in the Champions League 2-1 is not the end of the world yet.
I saw the interview that Mark Clemmit did with Sam Allardyce and whilst it was a stupid thing he did to lose the England job I reckon he can keep Crystal Palace up.

If they want to stay up and for BFS to keep his record of never being relegated from the top flight they need more wins like today. The bottom of the table is getting congested with teams on low points. Even someone like West Ham up there in 9th spot are in theory still in danger. I think when we are 10 games to go we may have a clearer idea who is likely to drop. Right now I wouldn't want to place a bet on any side staying up or going down. Even bottom placed Sunderland are not yet cut adrift at this stage of the season. Usually one team is dead and buried by now. Yet they are still in with a fighting chance of survival because other teams are as bad.

Tonight I am one very happy Seagull.
Brighton 3 Reading 0 Chris Hughton - thoroughly decent bloke and great manager. Let's hope he can get us back into the top flight. He really deserves this. |

Chris Hughton deserves some sort of medal, as I think this could be his 'third' Championship promotion.
AND he was 'stabbed' in the back by his boards both the previous times!!! Norwich and Newcastle. One 'small' point on Leicester.....It WAS a breath of fresh air them winning the league. But their style of football WASN'T!!! |
