I dont see United being out of Europe too long. Maybe no silverware this season but once we buy a couple of central defenders who have a pulse, and a decent defensive midfielder things should improve.

What do i know - the Glazers pretty much hamstrung Ferguson from replacing the guys who took them to 3 champions league finals in 5 years

Otherwise why the need for Paul Scholes to come out of retirement
or Ryan Giggs to play as long as he did?

The only real outlay was for RVP who won them their last EPL title

Several years spent dropping into Europes lesser competition and not making the final
says how far they've really fallen

Paying off interest on the Glazers loan the main reason the squad was never properly rebuilt

Judging by who LVG has bought

Daley blind is his choice of defensive midfielder

Marcus Rojo one of the centre halves - who else is on offer in January
Another Dutchman most likely

Chris Smalling seems like a rabbit caught in the headlights and youngsters
Blackett & Mcnair more for the future I would have thought though LVG does love to give youth their chance.

West Ham 2:1 Man City

An excellent match, but the thing that struck me most was how WHU pressed MC very high up the pitch, thus denying them the space and time to build attacks.

WHU's 2nd goal was given as a result of goal-line technology. Good to see no controversies and wrong calls on this issue. MC had lots of late pressure and might well have got the equaliser, but they just didn't get the rub of the green today.

Surely that tube should never have been allowed to buy the club, what`s he paid out in compo over the years?, fit & proper person my arse.

Were LUFC cash strapped and in danger of receivership/administration.

Like the Real Madrid game I am glad no one bothered to show the game today. I listened on Radio 5Live and although it sounded more exciting than last week, we still looked like we had so many chances especially Mr Balotelli, who had a better game but could have had 4? Anyway we will take the point. Onward to the League Cup Tuesday and Swansea(Rodgers old club).

Well done to West Ham and wow! what a result for AFC Bournemouth 8-0 against poor old Birmingham City.
