Tis true. Last summer my sister was over and one night we saw a fairly big spider under a table. I grabbed a small bowl to trap it and she went over and placed two conkers near it either side of it. As it tried to scuttle forward the spider did its best to avoid the confers and went around them so there is truth in the idea that conkers can ward off spiders-try it for yourself . In the end we got a piece of card under the bowl,with the spider trapped, we let it go outside the back door. It lived to scuttle another day.

I noticed that a member has posted a load of pics in Vicky Lee's thread which clearly aren't her, could some Mod remove them, I can't officially report it because that facility doesn't appear on an iPad and my PC is currently fucked!

It also appears that this country could suffer a storm this weekend, possibly named Storm Brian. Rain and winds expected late Saturday and Sunday evening ( just when we go out for a belated birthday dinner)
