Here in my corner of the US school is about to start again. The stay at home mothers appear to be preparing to celebrate.

Turkey wedding suicide bomber 'was child aged 12-14

A suicide bombing which killed 51 people in the Turkish city of Gaziantep was carried out by a 12 to 14-year-old, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

Mr Erdogan said the so-called Islamic State (IS) was behind the attack, which targeted a Kurdish wedding party. Gaziantep, near the Syrian border, is known to have several IS cells.

The bomb wounded 69 people, Mr Erdogan added, 17 of them seriously.

I think as a parent you have unconditional love for your child, so I can see your point about standing by them. I think also at the same time that is often severely tested when it involves certain individuals, like Sutcliffe and Ian Huntley for example. I can see why parents stand by their children no matter what but at the same time I can understand why some disown them after certain horrific events. I am just happy I am not in a position where I would ever have to make that choice.

They probably had difficult childhoods, were victimised for their religious beliefs by uncaring infidel scumbags and these outbursts were little more than cries for help in an increasingly troubled world.

But oto..., if your kids had known you would NOT stand by them no matter what they did, is it possible that they wouldn't do it or at least would think twice?
