Alice Faye
Born: Alice Jeanne Leppert on May 5, 1915 in New York City, New York, USA
Died: May 9, 1998 (age 83) in Rancho Mirage, California, USA http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0269647/ ....a huge star at Fox in the 30's and into the early 40's....had many song hits as well. At first, they tried to make her the next Jean Harlow, then they wised up and let her be herself. After her role was badly cut in Fallen Angel (1945) , she quit movies at the age of 30....not making another one til 1962! Mainly did radio shows with her husband Phil Harris. The last photo is the softer look of her heyday, I like the earlier look more.

Ah well ..... here's a bit more about her .... Alice Faye was born May 5, 1915; but some sources say May 5, 1912, which makes some difference when actions legality is considered.
At age13 Alice graduated from the 8th grade at Public School No. 84 in New YorkCity after she decided to give up her education and go into show business. She had the figure of a more mature girl (yes that old chestnut mi'lud), and she tried out for and was accepted by the Earl Carroll Vanities. When they discovered she was only 13, they politely dismissed her. Two years later, at age 15, she tried out for and landed a spot in the Chester Hale Vaudeville Unit. Afraid she might be dismissed again because of her age, she gave her year of birth as 1912, making them believe she was 18..... ah hmm.
