My reasoning.

2016, lets say the election result figures were the same, but swap who won and lost, I'll bet everything I own Hillary would not have said "Here Donald, you won the popular vote, Presidency is yours" 2 hours after the result was known I'll bet everything I own none of her supporters would have backed that also

All I see is today's Trump supporters and those of Clinton in 2016 as sore losers and making excuses

I'll add a it more, our own 2010 election, The one where Gillard made the deal with the minor parties, well the Libs won more of the primary vote then so that point you made about the system in the US is a bit hard to take.

There's a system there, it's not perfect, none will be, but it has to be respected. I see none of that in todays world, all I see is a bad example being set for the young.
Your reasoning creates a hypothetical that never happened, but ignores the fact that actually happened, namely that Hillary Clinton acknowledged that Trump won in 2016 because he won the electoral college. Whereas in 2020 Trump hasn't acknowledged that Biden won the electoral college (and got the majority of votes). Instead he's having a temper tantrum and some of his supporters, including one of his lawyers, are blaming Hugo Chavez, notwithstanding Chavez died in 2013.

About the 2010 Australian election. The Liberal/National coalition won 5,365,929 House of Representatives votes - 43.32%. Whereas Labor and the Greens won, between them, 6,170,361 House of Representatives votes - 49.75%. The Australian election where the winning parties had both the fewest primary votes and the fewest votes after preferences were distributed was 1998, when the coalition under John Howard beat Labor under Kim Beazley.

I only have one course of reason

Accept a result, period
Trump supporterts took to streets, Clinton supporters took to streets.
