The British Mystery and Masterpiece theater series. I really enjoy a lot of the series they put out BUT why are they usually only 6 episodes per season???
Example- I am currently watching Grantchester (typical weird town name) and there are just the 6 episodes in a season in this one.

Youtubers talking about movies. Some of them are actually really good and interesting but others are just self-centered cynics trying to be cool shouting at flicks they obviously didn't like or just want to trash. Cinemasins for example is one of the worst. Their all Everything wrong with... videos are unfunny, Okay they says that it's for comic purpose but I think they're pointing the wrong "wrong" things most of the time. Their so-called "made just for laughs" review of Mad Max Fury Road or the one for Kong Skull Island are stupid and dumb. Sometimes it looks like they didn't even understand the movie or just don't want to.
It's no big deal in fact and as some of you would say "If you don't like it, just don't watch it!" and you're right. And I don't watch any of Cinemasins videos anymore. But the problem is that people who are more uninspired than them are doing the same kind of thing, the all "Let's get cynical" stuff!
By the way, I love cynicism but when it's well used, not by talentless Youtubers mimicking those with the bigger number of views.
And to people in commentaries saying that they won't watch the film which has just been destroyed for good or most of the time bad reasons by a Youtuber, make your own opinion!
It's totally alright to give a bad review to a film you just disliked, but just making fun of every flick just because it's way too cooool dude, is something that really gets on my nerve.
And you guys can recommand me any good Youtube reviewers, I'm interested.
I like the GoodBadFlicks guy for example. He's honest and not the one who'll find every little surreal or confusing details in a movie in order to annihiliate it, "just for good laughs".

The reason is that they are usually the creation of a single writer - that seems to be our way - so you have to wait for their muse or for existing books to be adapted.

The US method seems to be to have a script outline and then hire a large team of writers - so more episodes can be produced. The quality seems pretty good either way but we tend to have shorter series.

My favorite are the Red Letter Media guys (from the Plinkett Reviews etc).
They have a peculiar sense of humor (which i love but i can see others disliking that) but they do know what they're talking about.

They also did a great in-depth review of the bad Star Wars movies (the Annakin ones), that's how i got to know them. Been hooked ever since.
The more you get to know them, the better it gets, IMO.

I also like the Nostalgia Critic, who i got to know from the The Room review years ago. Just as the Red Letter Media guys there's also a large comedy aspect in the reviews, which is not for everyone.
As his name suggests he focuses on older movies. Now and then he does new films too, even 'serious' reviews, like this one from Mad Max. He does those aside from his humoristic ones (again) Mad Max as example.

Both Red Letter media and Nostalgia Critic have a history/storyline of their own, so picking it up can feel odd in the beginning.

As for more straightforward reviews, i sometimes check some some Chris Stuckmann reviews, they're usually about 5 minutes.
He and i agree that Blade Runner 2049 and Mad Max are masterpieces, so that's good

Edit: i'm gonna check out the goodbadflicks, they look interesting.

As with you, I don't like those who just make fun of movies. At one time I did like the nostalgia critic, but for me he has 'jumped the shark' big time.

Ones that I like a lot are (not in any particular order, just how they came up from my book marks):

****

Oliver Harper's solo reviews

He does some really comprehensive interviews, including sound track info.

****

Chris Stuckmann

Good looking guy, a bit of a nerd - good looking wife, too!

****

Grace Randolph - Beyond the Trailer

Sometimes comes from a bit of a 'feminist' point of view, but in a good way.

****

Comic Girl 19

From her name, you can tell she also does reviews of comics - also does sci-fi reviews. My favorite.

****

and a little bit farther out of my comfort zone for reviewers, but has been mostly enjoyable:

Jeremy Jahns

I want to slowly torture my new apartment neighbors to death,
as I have been here 7 years yet I have to turn down my music,
on a Saturday night, at only 8PM. The concierge says they want to
call the police, so I just turn everything off, to heck with it. I always lose.

When you work as much as I do, and only have Saturday night to
blow off steam, this infringes on my rights to be a psychotic metal head.
Or rap head, or anything loud head. I like it LOUD.

I am always losing as the nice guy.

I give in to everyone over the years.

Can't stop living and be suicidal, but CAN listen to
SuicidaL Tendencies on head phones.

I just don't understand these f***ing retarded millennials.

I thought Mad Max: Fury Road was very poor, like watching a video game for two hours and the sub-human species and characters took into into the realms of fantasy which is not my thing. Nowhere near as bad as Beyond the Thunderdome, but nowhere near as good as the first two. Mad Max 2 is an all time classic and they should have left it there.

Because 10 "seasons" each consisting of 13 episodes is boring and tedious. I've given up on the likes of Netflix and box sets. They just go on and on and on. I watched the first series of 24 and it honestly seemed like Jack Bauer's wife and daughter had been held captive for about five years instead of a few hours. A one minute scene in a film takes about 10 minutes in box set and I just can't be bothered!

The millennials raised by helicopter parents and awarded ribbons and trophies for just showing up have distorted views of their place in the world.

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area police do not respond to noise complaints before 10:00 PM. It seems to me that curfew is pushed back on weekends. Personally, I use headphones because I like it REALLY LOUD. (And have hearing loss as a result.)

Personally, I would talk to my neighbors. Unless they had a job like emergency room nurse reporting at 6:00 AM on Sunday morning, they would need to be prepared to accept REALLY LOUD MUSIC on occasion. When living next to neighbors whose music I disliked, I would make arrangements to go elsewhere before 10:00 PM.
