Model ID resources

//Mods - there's nothing in the Forum with any resources to help the members ID models. If we put a post together could we get it stickied to the top of the forum?//

Please add anything I've missed, this is no way exhaustive, just something to get us rolling. If I'm wrong about something, let me know.
Once suggestions have stopped coming in, I'll edit this into one resource and hopefully get it stickied. I've used Naomi Banxxx as the example as she was the Model ID that made me realise we didn't have anything like this, and get off my arse and do something about it.

The resources in this post will help you find the ID of the model you're searching for, but if you can't find anything, please give us as much information as you've got/can remember when you post an ID request - and if you're new to this, read the Model ID rules first.

The VEF search - this should be your first stop if you've got any kind of name to work with. You can search by subsection, Classic or Modern, or the entire site.
You will quite often get a result that's just another alias you weren't aware of. And remember to try alternate spellings, it's pornstar names we're dealing with here.

Image search tools
For best results with image searches, you want the actual image address rather than the page it's showing on, so right click the image on the host page and "Open image in new tab" -

Google - if you use Chrome, you can right-click on an image and "Search Google for image".
Otherwise, open Google images, and search an image on your device by dragging it into the search box or clicking the camera and opening the image from there.
Google tends to be quite puritan in its results, will normally try to sell you something, and give a lot of Pinterest results as another Google product - example

Yandex image search - you'll probably get better results from Yandex than Google for porn images, as there's no filtering or ads. Again, either drag an image from your device, or click the camera button and paste the image address.
Yandex does a great job of providing similar images, which often throws up more pics of the model/set you're searching for - example

TinEye image search - TinEye will show you where that exact image appears on the web, but doesn't give any similar images - example
"While Tineye tends to be good at finding common/widely distributed images, the link results it returns are usually woefully out of date. If you get a hit, you need to feed that result into web.archive.org to get a working link from the archive" - Burpman

Databases
They're all very similar, and mostly searchable by model, production company, website, date etc.

Indexxx - comprehensive, updated regularly, great for aliases and alternate names a model uses - example

IAFD - film database, so more useful for porn than glamour shots.
Has a very useful tattoo search, and the Check Scene Pairings tab will show you most of the performers they've worked with.

EGAFD the European Girls Adult Films Database, great for IDing East European actresses. Comprehensive list of aliases and alternate names.

Eurobabeindex - similar to EGAFD, but has face pics of each model, which can be useful if you're really, really stuck on an ID (and have a lot of time). Also has some US models now, but predominantly European.

The Nude - searchable by category (redheads, small breasts, lying on bed etc) which can be very useful.

the following are useful if you have part of a name, or an alias to work with. Not good for IDs without something to go on.

Boobpedia - wiki style database of busty models, so no good for skinny teens - example

Freeones - lots of links to other videos and sets online - example

VEF resources
Magazine scans - Classic pre-1998 and Modern 1998 onwards. Invaluable if you know, for instance, it's a Mayfair pic, but you don't know when or who - searchable at thread and forum level using the Search drop-down in the blue bar. There's no standard date format unfortunately, so it could be Nov or November you're checking for.

In addition, there's the Magazine index forum, with breakdowns of all ID'd models and cover models in a very comprehensive range of mags.

ID Projects, ID Sheets & ID CSVs - a lot of dedicated members have ID'd and created databases of entire magazine and movie runs. If you know partly what you're looking for, the information will be in there somewhere.

If you don't know the mag the pic is from, but roughly the period it is from you might look through one or more of those indexes, e.g. the Sexy index to see whether any of the cover models of the same period match your pic. If they do then you either find the name there or you have most likely an obscure model on your hands.

Where's the fun in all of this?

The whole exercise prevents the possibility of IDers appearing to be less brilliant than they actually are, reducing the amount of 'thanks' we get and, worst of all, reducing the amount of times - and severity of - rebukes that can be administered for infractions administered to NoobZ and the generally reckless and feckless for blatantly, haplessly, gormlessly queries.

Anybody have a MILF or cougar ID resource they use, it's one area I always struggle on?
Also, there must be more online databases people use?

I know, but we know we're brilliant.
It's like Brudor - in my head he actually runs the Vatican porn library, with hundreds of little robed underlings running around checking magazines and websites, which is how he constantly comes up with the correct ID for the most obscure requests.
In reality he probably just has a very good set of go-to resources to help him out.

If we stopped treating this as a competition for fake Internet points and pooled resources life would be so much simpler.

I've moved this thread from the main model id section to here for now. What I'm thinking is after this thread runs for a while we'll condense the useful information, remove all the idle chit-chat, and sticky it then. Thanks for the suggestions and carry on.

Also, IMDb can be an excellent resource for tracking down additional titles and sometimes includes pictorial info in the publicity area with more info on well known models with dates of publication and issue numbers.

In the 1990's, Fling started carrying a lot more ads for videos and magazines. The magazines were usually a bit older and the ad pages included many IDs which are quite accurate. Whoever was doing the ad pages, had a very good store of knowledge about the models.
