^^ So true. Yet I recall some big noise - not Graves - of the ECB being interviewed only last year and stated (not an exact quote) "Test Cricket is still our No 1 priority". Hollow words indeed.

Nice moment at the end of the game today was that 'Player of the match' - told you I knew the answer to that one - Sarah Taylor, who can be described as the ladies equivalent of Jos Buttler (but much more of a looker) takes that bottle of bubbly just awarded to her and gives it to her family in the crowd.
Looking forward now to the clash between the men and Aus. True that the men should win but I do think they were guilty of complacancy against the Scots, a raft of rash stokes and stupid run-outs. Guilty of only one of these offences could be enough to witness another loss. |

This year a little Football Competition called the World Cup might have influenced the decision to avoid Test matches prior to August by those in suits. |

A modest total and a modest bowling attack and England almost made a hash of it again.
Not wishing to single out one player since others also perished to careless, or needless, shots but he sure looked in deep thought and all alone on the player balcony as they crawled to victory. |

Amelia Kerr, #2, #3 (links all similar stories, just diff. options/prefs. for folks). #4.
232no off 145, carried bat through innings. 3rd highest ODI total. Current highest (just) for a woman. Youngest double centurion in cricket (surpassing Javed Miandad). Partnership of 295 for second wicket with Leigh Kasperek. Followed by 5/17 off 7, after a 10 min nap on the physio table. 17yo, still at school, prev. regarded as bowling talent (leggie) with hopes of becoming an all-rounder. |

Wonder whether the men were watching the ladies today.
Modest run chase on what appeared to be a tricky wicket. But no sense of panic or attempts to finish it off in the previous over Hope local weather holds firm for Cardiff tomorrow. No. I will not be at the ground. If Aus were to win the toss I would like to see them bowl and more responsible batting from England. |

Game is due to start at 11am, so as long as not water logged we should at least get a reduced overs game. |

Did not see all of today's game for various reasons - rugby, red wine to name but two - but a close game in the end. Maybe too close for England's liking as it threatened to go away from them and a similar disappointment for the Aussies.
At least the bad weather in these parts only some 20 miles from Cardiff did not reach the capital so not too many disruptions. |
