When I look at Brees/Peyton. I think their careers are comparable to what Brady/Belichick would've had, if they played in a tough division. Never mind one as closely fought as NFC South is. They probably would've jagged one more SB, I suppose?

For me its not about the division your in but what you do when you get to the play offs and basically Uncle Bill understands how it works better than almost everyone.

I found out early on the play offs are a completely different ball game. Washington had just racked up comfortable wins in the regular season and came back from the dead to beat the Raiders. They were also the opposition in the Superbowl and I was expecting the Redskins to run riot unfortunately the Raiders had other ideas and shut our offence down while us Marcus Allen run our D ragged 38-9 in the end.

That was a long time ago. What if playing in a weak division offers more opportunity to play in the playoffs?

Modern day, Pats 16-0 beat the Giants in the regular season, Giants gained a wild card spot and beat the Pats in the final.

2015 Panthers 15-1, Denver 12-4. Denver win the Superbowl.

The play offs are a completely different ball game regardless of how tough or easy your division is. They are a bit like the FA Cup where minnows can upset the money boys.

Luck can play an outsized role in the playoffs. A key injury can doom a team. Plus, it is not your record, but how well you are playing come playoff time that counts. Several teams with gaudy records peaked early and were stagnate and stumbling in the playoffs.

40 year old players have a disconcerting way of losing the tiny bit extra that separates them from the near greats. That is the Patriot haters best chance for joy this season.

The Jags probably won't win, but not picking the Patsies gives me a clear conscience. I hate those idiots, even though they gave the Niners what may be a gift for the ages. I'm proud to say that Brady's California citizenship has been revoked.
