That's obviously true but can be said for so many "celeb clans" like the Osbournes, the Hogans, that wig-wearing turd Gene Simmons and many more. To tell you the truth, I didn't even know who Bruce Jenner was until he came out as transgender and that was like a few months ago?

Having that as a frame of reference undoubtedly gives us 'older' folk a different perspective on this circus. Where he came from, and how she ended up. Sort of like Michael Jackson-- who started out as a talented young black singer/dancer and ended up an old, ugly white woman. The range of 'interest' in this is also amazing.. going from those who like watching a train wreck to those who feel this is some sort of commendable move and that it's a beacon for oppressed people everywhere. People's personal preferences in life don't interest me, much like I don't feel the need to walk down the street wearing a "I love big tits" t-shirt (or similar). In the end, with all that's going on in the world, I still wonder why this is news.

I learned soon enough about his sports career. That was a bit before my time and I know nothing about the Olympics. But hey I remember Atlanta '96.
Well finding out who he was left me puzzled just like you. How do you go from this to that? His status as an American hero and sports icon is probably what kept him from coming out earlier. Jenner was also one of the first Olympic athletes to gain celebrity status. I guess he owes that to the Cold War. |

now Caitlyn Jenner will receive the ESPN ESPY award instead of someone like Lauren Hill who while dying of cancer still took time to raise money to help finance more cancer research, 2 months from now the headline will be Kanye cheating on Kim with Caitlyn

I have a hunch that might just be very prophetic, and here's why. I knew about Jenner and the Kardashian bullshit clan, though didn't pay much attention as I despise sleaze. His sex change made news here half a world away Yet I've never even heard of Lauren Hill

Really, other than winning the Decathlon in the '76 Montreal Olympics, there nothing else to report. He did appear in the 1980 Village People film "Can't stop the Music". From his outfit, I guess we should have seen this coming a long time ago. |

Thanks to everyone who pointed out that "Caitlyn Jenner" is really Bruce Jenner in drag. I might have made the mistake of thinking that "Caitlyn J." was a hot daughter of his lineage, but now the name has been deleted from my Leads folders.
Bruce is morally equivalent to Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, who also evaded the hand of justice due to celebrity status, after having an auto accident that resulted in someone's death. Although Vince was punished with $1M of fines and forced to do "community service", there was no prison. I think it's a shame that many years later, in the 2000s, a celebrity can STILL escape justice when someone else died. But changing your sex in America is always going to cause controversy, and if there is karma, Bruce aka. "Caitlyn" will be ridiculed for effeminacy by right-wing Christians instead of the equally traumatic experience of prison. |
