I don`t get it, to go through with the operation and then change yourself into a woman and then be a lesbian, you don`t need to change that way to love a woman. perhaps as he became older he lost his testosterone and now he feels like a woman , I think it would be easier to get testosterone replacement therapy. but i suppose their is more money to be made this way.

I honestly believe it's all about the media attention. Look at all the attention his ex-wife, step daughters and now his daughters have been getting over the past several years; and then there was old man Bruce, the bump on the log who's time had long passed and nobody took seriously. He's had to watch the media covering his ex-wife and her new young boy toys, and he had enough. He'll shown them, he'll now be a woman with a story none of them can top. He'll get all the attention, he's got his own reality show coming up; and in comparison, Kris ain't got nuthin' going on. Granted, there has to be some wires crossed somewhere for a man to contemplate or actually do this, but I truly believe that his main motive is some sort of twisted revenge; that, and he likes wearing women's underwear.

There is one part I'm kinda enjoying about all this, he's totally stolen all Kris' thunder. He's painting her as the money obsessed bitch, (OK, she is one), who never emotionally supported him (Boo Hoo!), and she is furious.

Well she's obviously transgender. I'm trying to say that I seriously doubt Bruce Jenner went through all the trouble to become Caitlyn just for more media attention. His fame is based on being a once great athlete and good looking heartthrob. Now those times are long over and he's got nothing to loose. He/she can finally be what she feels like. Same situation with many gay athletes and entertainers who keep their sexuality a secret for many years. Yes, (s)he's an attention-seeking self-promoter but the Jenner hype has been built up by media. It's the never-ending circus. One clown is followed by another. That 22 pages dedication she got in Vanity Fair is pathetic. I didn't read that article but I guess it's all about his/her suffering. I doubt Jenner knows what it really means to suffer. Most transsexuals live in a harsh reality. The suicide rate is high, it's hard for them to find a job, so the usual alternative they got is prostitution.

Bruce/Caitlin Jenner aside, whatever he decided to do, it's his thing, and if he wants to sell his story, then fine, his decision.

But the entire media hoopla about this is driven by media itself. In the days of internet and twitter when news are not reported on, but are created and manufactured, it is the big media websites that are trying to influence the content. It is an illusion of the new age that the internet is a level playing ground where people follow what is of interest to them - media companies know where the website clicks are, and they are steering the news towards it by creating the big interest about particular things.

Just in my place of work everyone is talking about this since yesterday even though nobody has any idea about who this guy was, or any interest. But it works by simple peer pressure - the story has been made so big that it becomes a big story in the ordinary public, it's a perpetuum mobile with a little shove at the start.
