More trivia! Hall of Fame specific, there'll only be a few, but they're hard.

1. Who are the only two men in the Hall who did not attend college?

2. Name 6 of the 8 Heisman Trophy winners in the Hall.

3. Name 2 of the 4 sets of college teammates in the Hall.

4. Who was the youngest man (at time of election) elected to the Hall?

5. Who is the first veteran of the World Football League (1974-75) elected to the Hall?

6. Which player in the Hall played the fewest games in his career?

7. What two members of the Hall were born in Canton, OH?

Good luck!

Okay, time for the answers to my first CFL quiz!

1. When was the last "Battle of the Roughriders" Grey Cup game played?
1976 between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Ottawa Rough Riders. The game is highlighted by the famous, "The Catch" made by Tony Gabriel to win the Eastern Riders' last championship.

Quote:
2. The Grey Cup has been played for on and off since 1909 but name the only 2 Grey Cup Championships to be decided by overtime.
1961 and 2005

Quote:
3. Name the winning teams in those games.
1961 - Winnipeg Blue Bombers
2005 - Edmonton Eskimos

Quote:
4. Who was the last Canadian born player to win the MVP, (known in Canada as the Most Outstanding Player award.)
Tony Gabriel in 1978.

Quote:
5. Why did the 1940 Grey Cup not include a western team?
Basically the ERU, not the CRU refused to play the Western Champion, (and reigning Grey Cup Champion,) Winnipeg Blue Bombers because of their usage of blocking beyond the line of scrimmage. The Ottawa Rough Riders were presented with the Grey Cup but there is still an asterisk tainting the win. The Bombers restored order winning the cup back in 1941.

Quote:
6. Name all 7 teams that played in the United States during the CFL's ill fated "US Experiment" of 1993-1995.
Sacramento Gold Miners, (the only franchise to play in a league other than the CFL since the incorperation of the league in 1959 as they were originally the Sacramento Surge of the WLAF in 1991 and 1992.)
Baltimore Stallions/Colts/CFL Colts
Shreveport Pirates
Las Vegas Posse
Memphis Mad Dogs
Birmingham Barracudas
San Antonio Texans

Quote:
7. Name all 3 incarnations of Montreal's CFL team.
1946-1981: Montreal Alouettes
1982-1985: Montreal Concordes
1986: New Montreal Alouettes (same franchise as the Concordes but they brought the name back.)
1996-Present: Montreal Alouettes (franchise transferred from Baltimore.)

Quote:
8. Name the only 3 former CFL quarterbacks to play in the Super Bowl.
Joe Kapp - Super Bowl IV
Joe Theisman - Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XVIII
Sean Salsbury - off the bench late in Super Bowl XXIX

Fast fact: All 3 QBs in question also played in the Grey Cup. Kapp in 63 and 64, Theisman in 71 and Salsbury in 1988.

Quote:
9. Name 2 coaches who won the Grey Cup as head coach of 2 or more different teams.
Don Matthews: BC Lions 1985, Baltimore Stallions 1995, Toronto Argonauts 1997-1998, Montreal Alouettes 2002
Wally Bueno: Calgary Stampeders 1992, 1998, 2002, BC Lions 2006.
Ron Lancaster: Edmonton Eskimos 1993, Hamilton Tiger-Cats 1999.

Quote:
10. Who was the youngest coach to win the Grey Cup?
Bud Grant, age 30, in 1958.

Thanks for playing and maybe I'll have another quiz next week!
