I'm finally back in the land of air conditioned comfort. Thanks to those who took it easy on my colleague.

A (stray) thought: I have witnessed several times problems mods. from other sections have with not being readily able to move id-related (question/query) posts out of their sections and into MIR, where they can be dealt with. I understand this is due to rules about mod. section access privileges. My suggestion/question: what about creating sub-fora in various sections--e.g. classic mags. & classic models, etc. where those mods can place any such posts. MIR mods. then have a subscription or other such means of being notified of new posts there, and they have the ability to "pull" such posts out of there & into MIR, where such posts can be properly dealt with? MIR mods would obviously have to be granted privileges over those sub-sections, but that seemingly complicated arrangement might be simpler/easier than giving all mods ability to chuck stuff direct into MIR? /shrug/ It also seems better than present arrangements where e.g. id questions are left ignored in e.g. models/models discussion sections.
This is an example but there have been a number of others I've witnessed. Hmm, slightly wider view but related: the same sort of issue of "territoriality" arises e.g. when one suggests the merging of several posts from various sections such as vint. elegance & beauty (lesser knowns) & maybe softcore, or photogs. (e.g. Leja) content, etc., i.e. to make a model thread. In one case a few months ago a green mod. told me such (the moves) was too difficult/not possible. The next day another member asked the same question of a rusty mod. & it seemed to then become not only possible but readily done. My point is not to do away with the hierarchy of mod. group/section areas of responsibility--that is a quite standard & typical comp. systems admin. design, e.g. database admins. My point is about managing the sticky/blurry edges of such arrangements. |

Any Moderator has the technical capability of moving or merging posts anywhere on VEF. The problem is we don't want to interfere with the administration of other sections. So none of us here would want to take actions in another section without the Mods in that section's prior approval. This difficulty is compounded when considering the merger of posts from different sections to form a model thread. The other problem is simply the lack of time. We're all volunteers who have our own personal interests here at VEF and we wish to pursue those just like any other member.
If a member has a suggestion along the lines of what effCup has described I suppose the best course is to send me a PM with the details of what should be done. Just make sure the message contains very specific instructions with links or quotes and I'll see what I can do (no promises). |

Something's wrong here
The Mystery-Box entry is only about the first woman "Joanna" (woman in white) The pictures of the two other women. in red, do not belong into this MB-post. (I assume that this happened when uploading images to Pixhost) |

Can mods. please un-lock this query? I haven't looked but maybe mods. also need to check that any other add-ons in that section are also not still locked?
I wanted to add this: Lana in Rustler 04-01, 1979, thanks to mogli63. |

I've gone through all 65 pages of the Mystery Box Follow-up threads and did find several which were locked. They're all open now.

We have a new sub-forum called Mixed-Up Model Threads. There is an explanation of it's purpose in a sticky thread there. Hopefully this will achieve the goal of keeping the model threads a little cleaner by removing posts of incorrect models which have been posted. We're starting this project in cooperation with the Moderators from the other sections and they will make the final decisions as to what will be removed. So please keep an eye on this for new threads and help keep the model threads clean with your contributions. Thanks, everyone.

Would it be useful for all (long-running) query models, where we have at least a partial or a one-part name, to also have a model thread created for them, in addition to retaining the mir query? That way there'd be:
