Update on my mum's cousin out in Texas: Everything it appears is fine, the main storm seems to have missed them but a lot lof rain still around.
Here is my tale of woe(of sorts) which makes this Wednesday pretty weird. It started this morning going to the surgery where I had my blood test. They were running slightly late and my 10.40 appointment turned into 11.25pm which heightened my anxiety(I don't like needles) but finally I was seen. Came out and came home by bus but walked the rest of the way as the bus dropped some of us at the wrong stop. Got back home and decided to treat myself to a pizza, and around 1.25pm rang up and ordered said pizza(small, Italian margareta with double sweetcorn and some potato wedges incase you're interested) and was told it would take 1hr 45mins (I've never waited longer than 45mins for any pizza delivery) so I duly waited and then slightly after the time was up still no pizza. I rang them up and asked where it was and was told that the driver was on his way. Now bear in mind it is now nearly 2.30pm so again I waited. It was now 3.10pm so I thought sod it I'll ring again and find out where the hell my pizza is, but the chap at the other end then told me that in fact the driver had had an accident and gone to hospital with a suspected broken leg!! It never occured to him to ring me back and tell me, but here is the final denouement...he was the only driver available, so I ended up with no pizza/potato wedges and had beans on toast instead...what a day!
