Naked City Miss Nude Universe Contest

I had this Pagenant on VHS tape. I don't know what ever became of it.

back in the 1970s there was some quadriplegic guy who owned this nudist resort call Naked City. this place was some where in the southern part of the United States. it seemed to be a pretty big event. it even had a write up in Hustler magazine if I remember.

what I found interesting about the film, were the families, two or three generation of young girls and women that enter these nude pagenants. it seemed to be a family tradition thing. these families travail around the deep south fallowing the nude pagenant circuit. little girls who are brought up from an early age being groomed and pampered like thoroughbred race horses, and looking forward to their first nude pagenant. there must be good money in it.

I remember a scene in the film where a proud grandmother, who had been a nude pagenant contestant back in the 1950s, shows off her two young nude granddaughters by telling them to turnaround so the camera can have a good view of their beautiful young bodies. she also informs viewer that she also had a young niece competing that year.

then the grandmother informs the interviewer that one of the granddaughters would be entering the Pagent for the first time next year. then she begins to vigorously rub lotion all over one girls .

I felt the back stage preparation scenes were probably most enjoyable moments of the film. it was a pretty interesting documentary.

Naked City was owned by Dick Drost and was in Roselawn, Indiana. This is in North West Indiana, near Chicago. It is now known as SUNAURA.
