Poor old Phil! Manhandled by that bunch of idiots, no wonder he was shaking like a leaf it wasn't just cold it looked bloody scared of all those people gawping at it. It was covered live on the BBC News Channel-what a waste of air time - a frightened, probably still very tired large rodent being woken from its kip by two top-hatted fools then made to pick a scroll, (to determine whether Winter would last another few weeks or Spring was on the way) which we couldn't see anyway and then we are supposed to believe this other idiot 'talks' groundhog-ese just by grasping a wooden stick...only in America!

Incidentally I watched the poor thing shivering and guessed it was Winter and I suspect a lot lof people already knew it was going to be that anyway.

That said we also have daft traditions but they don't include animals a lot of the time - mostly men in silly costumes and hitting each other with sticks and wearing bells on their legs - morris dancing eh - I still don't get it myself

Should we really be treating the homeless worse than we treat criminals?

Maybe because we see the homeless differently and not as one homogenous mass, those who have pissed their lives away through drugs and alcohol I couldn't really care about. Targeted care should be given to genuine cases who have lost their homes through no fault of their own or who have fled from abuse.
Either way that is no excuse for stealing from the injured and dying after a cowardly bomb attack. Opportunist theft of food and other necessities from shops I can understand but what he did went far beyond any concept of morality.

Interesting point here, on a technical point, could he have been charged with looting? Albeit it was a terrorist attack, it was a technical act of war, and he was stealing from people unable to protect themselves as a result of that act?

To steal from victims is the most horrendous of crimes,But on Seanys point, the homeless are ignored and with the change in benefit payments the situation will only get worse. Great effort at reform by fast tracked civil servants, who know nothing of the real wortld!

Actually a Manchester landlord offered him free accommodation for three months and crowd funding raised £300k, I remember it being suspended at the time, and wondered why, this was obviously the reason, all gifted monies were refunded.
