that one right there is my favorite Frank quote!

yes sir! I really like the way it's written. it doesn't follow the standard chronological
order most autobiographies follow. lots of musical tidbits, quotes, and tour stories.

aren't you glad a nice VEF member gave you a heads up about it?

or lyrics...

Indulging in some Dewar's this evening, along with 'other' things and decided to spin Sheik Yerbouti (released 1979)

Awesome album. There was a time before CDs where it was hard to get. I had it on 8 track, and eventually it was eaten as were so many tapes before it. I once paid a guy at a local record shop to record it from LP to cassette so I could have a copy in whatever form.

Rock and roll genius, lyrically hysterical:

"go ahead and roll over, I'm going in you again"

"ladies you can be an asshole, too.. You might pretend you aint got one on the bottom of you, but don't fool yourself, it's winking at you"

"wanna buy some mandies, Bob?"

"I'm a moron, and this is my wife. She's frosting a cake with a paper knife" (you gotta be a certain age to get that one)

"the plumber he said, never flush a tampoon.. this great information cost me half a week's pay, and the toilet blew up later on the next day.."

"don't fool yourself girl, it's going right up your poop chute"

"I'm so cute, they're so homely"

Yeah, they may not be in the right order, but those familiar with this double LP get it.

Jam of the moment: Rat Tomago

That's as far as I am through it thus far... my phone died and I have to charge it to continue.

I remember, that's how you could tell it was "quality" frosting!

"Sheik Yerbouti" is sure a record you can recommend to Zappa newbies. And not just because of "Bobby Brown". You can say that FZ´s music in the 80´s has a bit more "commercial potential" than in the days of the Mothers. If you let alone stuff like "The Perfect Stranger" or "Jazz From Hell".

Ok, fellow Zappa fans, now that you've read all these great memories and quotes, remember post #2 on page 1 and imagine Lady Gaga living, writing and recording in FZ home...

I came across this a while back, in eleven parts.
The story of the record labels, in collaboration with Herb Cohen

From Straight to Bizzare

Reminds me that i should check out Jeff Symonds.

Elsewhere i found a Youtube/Realtor tour of the Zappa house, before the Gaga purchase. An impressive property. One can only imagine what the one that burnt down must've been like?
