Without the BBC you'd have to put up with hours of crap programmes fronted by idiots like Ant and smegging Dec or smug articles like Philip Schofield and years more Coronation Street(so true to life that one) thanks but no thanks give me the BBC every time. Mind you there aren't the main presenters of the past that used to be on television but who knows maybe a new golden age of TV is just around the corner but you won't get it from ITV or Channel Four or Five.

No it is actually owning a TV set that means you have to pay the fee, even then they try to get you on owning a computer that can receive TV pictures!!! I live in a Hotel in Switzerland, the Hotel pays my fee!

The problem here is less of the government crap, more the private crap is the problem.

I have noticed that the snow has gone and today was a positively balmy 9 degrees Celsius (49 F). I know that Aussie members will be squirming at the very thought, but 9 is warm.

As for contributing to the community I do far too much of that already through taxation, so the community can go and f*ck itself with a hand grenade if they think I'm going to pay for the junk they watch on the idiots lantern.

Otoko's answer shows they can only make the stupid or misinformed pay.

The fact they use the criminal (magistrates) courts rather than the civil courts means unless you admit it, let 'inspectors' in or say sign up to a pay TV service, the evidential burden in criminal law (beyond a reasonable doubt) means it is otherwise impossible to a conviction or even get warrant to search the property due to complete absence of evidence.

The whole enforcement process relies on myths, ignorance and fear.

But then again if you think Gary Lineker is worth £1.75m a year of your cash for saying 'What do you think about that Alan?' once a week, then you should carry on contributing to the BBC 'community' on a purely voluntary basis
