I noticed that the Adverising Standards Association ASA are to ban adverts which show stereotypes like men being useless at things from changing nappies to taking the kids to,school or ironing a shirt etc...about bloody time too, for far too long advertisers have portrayed men as feckless, useless and lazy which might be for a small minority but not the vast majority and one assumes that this will also cut both ways. Not showing women always cleaning the house, ironing, vacuuming etc because again not all women do that-mostly chores are shared now, but it is also true to say that most modern women don't always have children and nowadays aren't just married to men.

Because they work very erratic hours and need to be on time and not tired by the time they arrive...maybe?

I mean, I take your point but we do need to cut some people some slack. Charging extortionate hospital parking fees to staff without recompense (in fact wages going backwards) seems extremely counter productive to me.

It's certainly something I would have fought against on behalf of my staff when I was a manager of a town centre office where colleagues were contractually obliged to have a car available at all times.

That needs no comment: It is the ground of the hospital, which staff is working there.

If you have a bigger company in the town - or the staff of the area authority - I bet they are having free parking too.

This past week I noticed, just like every other week

None of the worlds problems were solved with the banter on VEF

As Chairman Mao said about the effects of the French Revolution - "It's still too early to judge".

And as Mahatma Ghandi said when asked what he thought of Western Civilisation "I think it would be a very good idea..."

Justine Damond: Australian PM calls shooting 'inexplicable'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-40651470

Another fuckwit trigger happy US cop shoots an unarmed civilian

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges said she is seeking information as to why Officer Noor and his partner had failed to activate their cameras.
"We cannot compel Officer Noor to make a statement," she said.

Why the fuck not ???, surely in any civilised society that sorry excuse for an officer should have to explain why he had to shoot someone, the fact is that far too many of these incidents are happening, in the UK every incident has to be fully investigated in the USA cops appear to shoot more often than the twats order donuts.

No doubt this bastard will get off as so many of these gung-ho death squad wannabes do

‘Culture of Silence’ Abetted Abuse of at Least 547 German Choir Boys, Inquiry Finds

I've a schoolfriend who made a diplome in philosophy at the university and then became journalist.
He believes in God and when I was at school with him, he sometimes thought to be a priest.
22 years ago, he discovered a big scandal of young boys abused in a famous Swiss catholic college.
He wrote an article for his newspaper, newspaper that is under catholic influences. His article never was published and he was fired from his job due to huge pressures made by the college and some very influent pro-catholic politicians of that State. (Just for people who don't know, Switzerland like Germany and America are a confederation of States).
After beeing fired he found a new job in another important newspaper in another state and tried to publish the scandal. He was fired a second time. The pressures were incredibly powerful.
Then he had all the difficulties in the world to find a job in another newspaper and had to change his career.
About 10 years later some scandals of that kind were denounced in other catholic colleges in other States of Switzerland. Catholic authorities tried to minimize as much as possible the facts, but finally had to recognize them.
