A few years back I bought "Astral Weeks" by Van Morrison. I had heard a lot about it and it is, of course, considered a classic.

Now, I will say it must be just me - but this is the only album I can think of that I actually felt the worse for having heard. I cannot for the life of me express why this was, but I found the whole thing depressing and strangely disturbing.

I do not wish to denigrate this work but it really was not for me. Perhaps someone familiar with it can help to explain why this might have been my experience of it. I would genuinely like to understand my reaction.

I love that song!

It brings back a lot of great memories of my very early teenage years.

I was about 12/13 when it came out, and it does bring back some good memories of the early 90's pop culture for me.

92 was the year I started secondary school, and although I'll always be an 80's child at heart the pop-culture of the early 1990's (things like music, fashion, entertainment, social trends etc) do come second (particularly between 1990-92, or there about).
